Michael Crowley hits it out of the park-If dems want to win, they need to get rough
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/aug/10/barackobama.johnmccain

If the Democrats want Obama to win, they have to get roughBarack may dislike mudslinging, but he needs his people to paint John McCain as nothing more than a slightly older Bush

Yep so true. And, also, the DNC needs to be very similar to the RNC in 2004. We need to hit John Mccain as hard as Zell Miller hit JFK in 2004 with the "spitballs" statement. I think a fundamental focus of the DNC should be ripping Mccain to shreds and no-holds barred. I'm sure we can introduce Barack and Michelle to the country in an effective way at the same time we go nuclear on Mccain.

Again, Bush opened up a lead against JFK in 2004 after the convention that he never relinquished because the RNC was all about attacking Kerry in 2004. 15 points at it's height if I recall.

As you can tell, I'm ready for all-out war against the GOP machine and the media which they have dominant control over. I hope that the democrats at the national level have the same eagerness.

1. Wrong. Obama is already winning.
You people really are something else!

I love it!

Obama is leading McCain in every poll and you suggest he goes against what has been working. Do that and he will lose! But that's ok, right? God I'm glad you guys aren't running his campaign, or he would've been out of this thing long ago.

11. Face the facts: They haven't swift boated Obama.
If you're trying to compare their attacks on what happened to Kerry, you're confused.

Those attacks were horrible, these are laughable. There is a reason Obama hasn't dropped in the polls for a prolonged period since these attacks started.

16. Wake up and smell the Muslim emails
and they are just warming up

So far they have over 25 million in 527s just waiting to open up with both barrels on Obama.

It will make the McCain ads pale in comparison

12. Yeah, Obama's class is actually responsible for a lot of the infamous Obamicans.
McCain's desperate free-for-all mudslinging at any occasion probably does more to turn people off. Who wants to elect as President, as the very FACE of the country, someone who's always whining about the other guy? That's called being a baby. With the infantile President we already have, I doubt people want another repeat.

8. Also I want Max Cleland, Michael Dukasis, John Kerry to be avenged
It's time that the republicans pay for 25 years of destroying the careers of people far more honorable and decent than they can ever hope to be.

Like Senator Obama has said "not this time!."

13. As with everything
in life timing is everything. Obama knows exactly when to get rough. He hasn't gotten as far as he has being stupid. When the perfect time comes he's going to go for the jugular and he won't let up on McCain just watch.

14. Be Realistic - Due To Media Bias - Democrats Can't Simply Hire Karl Rove
Its not about Big Media liking negativity. If that were the case, the MSM would have used the John Edwards affair to re-examine John McCain's affairs, particularly since John Edwards himself drew the parellel. However, Big Media has taken to editting out the comment in transcripts and coverage of Edward's affair, instead focusing on Bill Clinton's affair. Big Media is biased, and it is a mistake to assume that a new strategy or clever commerical will suddenly keep Big Media honest.
