The Blogs and Liberal Radio need to go ballistic over McCain's infidelity
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 11:48 AM by Quixote1818
The Mainstream Media is not going to do it unless every liberal blog and liberal radio show takes this and runs with it full blast. It's got a little bit of traction but we need to make it our biggest focus right now. Believe me, if Obama had done the same thing years ago the Republicans would be synchronized with Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Free republic, and every other blog and radio show. It would be mailed out to everyone and they would be telling everyone to contact the MSM. After they were done with the issue, 90% of America would know about it.

This is an issue that could do major damage to McCain especially with women. The only problem is the Olympics are starting so the timing is bad.

I wish Edwards had said something like: "I guess John McCain and I now have something in common" If Edwards were smart he could have instantly made the MSM have to start talking about McCain doing the same thing. Missed opportunity by John.

1. EXACTLY - create a WALL OF NOISE! You'd think they'd have learned from the RW firebreathers

who intimidated the crap out of the media so much over the last 2 decades that it gave great cover for all the skewed reporting that the corporate network bosses demanded of their mediawhores.

2. Maybe this would be a good time for the news magazines such as
Time and Newsweek to do a cover story on infidelity and leadership as Edwards will not be involved now and so that leaves the other candidate McSame. Good time for the voters to learn how he treated his ex-wife and how Ronald Reagan and Nancy had nothing to do with him for a long time because of how he did her and Ross Perot still doesn't. You have Gingrich who delivered divorce papers to his dying wife in the hospital. Hey, Mcsame even voted against women getting equal pay, against their right to choose. Looks to me like some sort of a gender character flaw the guy has.

Anyway, yeah since they want to highlight Edwards affair, looks to me like McSame is fair game and he should be if this is a deal about leadership, character flaws because he has one and is still running for office.

5. That would be a great article for Newsweek or TIME
A lot of juicy information especially with the Ronald and Nancy Reagan connection. If they want to sell magazines that would be a way to do it. Of course they would need to cover Bill too.

4. Why not just leave it alone
and just say this stuff is not important. This country has big decisions to make. A persons sex life is a personal matter.

Let it go.

8. Then the press shouldn't cover John Edwards
and they shouldn't have cared about Bill Clinton. The issue is making the MSM be fair just like this article suggests: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6614507

10. It's obvious that the media doesn't give a fuck about the important stuff
Like all those folks losing their homes. Or all the people adversly effected by Welfare Reform etc. Not to mention the scoundrels getting tax breaks in the Welfare to work program.

THere are lots of stories out there to cover.

This BS is in the realm of infotainment.

I'd much rather like to know what Obama and McCain plan to do about all these people getting swept under the rug.

12. I agree, but right now that is not the real world
If the MSM is not going to give the facts on Oil drilling and John McCain's flip flops on important issues then we need to take what we can get with something they might cover if it gets enough traction. We need to play the game until we get into office because if we don't get into office then we are fucked!

You should have learned that in the 04 election with Kerry.

14. Wrong, we need to learn how to play hardball
As I said, Republicans would be attacking Obama relentlessly if he had done this and it would do major damage. We have to fight fire with fire or risk losing. Kerry lost because we didn't fight fire with fire.

16. Notice that the public really doesn't care about this?
Clinton won re election in the midst of a sex scandal.

Nobody really cares.

The right survives on the myth that people really give a shit about this stuff.

cheat on her or lady who has had a boyfriend cheat on her will instantly be angered at McCain.

11. I don't bother and I don't watch
I have a life rather than sit glued to my TV all day watching these guys shovel bullshit and complaiun about it.

Best way to fight it is not watch it and let their advertisers know you don't watch it.

Fair is fair - can't mention one without the other. Especially when the one not mentioned is running for President.

21. send it to everyone!
accuse McCain of “double talk” like Bush did 4 years ago. What sweet revenge, no?

Mr. Bush’s allies called Mr. McCain “sanctimonious.”

doesn't that sound like two words befitting a cheater who lied about cheating in his own autobiography?

LOSER.

DOUBLE TALK JOHNNY!

(make that stick, please!)

McCain, who is about to become the GOP nominee, has made several statements about how he divorced Carol and married Hensley that conflict with the public record.

In his 2002 memoir, "Worth the Fighting For," McCain wrote that he had separated from Carol before he began dating Hensley.

"I spent as much time with Cindy in Washington and Arizona as our jobs would allow," McCain wrote. "I was separated from Carol, but our divorce would not become final until February of 1980."

An examination of court documents tells a different story. McCain did not sue his wife for divorce until Feb. 19, 1980, and he wrote in his court petition that he and his wife had "cohabited" until Jan. 7 of that year - or for the first nine months of his relationship with Hensley.

Although McCain suggested in his autobiography that months passed between his divorce and remarriage, the divorce was granted April 2, 1980, and he wed Hensley in a private ceremony five weeks later. McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first wife.

Until McCain filed for divorce, the Reagans and their inner circle assumed he was happily married, and they were stunned to learn otherwise, according to several close aides.

"Everybody was upset with him," recalled Nancy Reynolds, a top aide to the former president who introduced him to McCain.
