It was Edwards who brought the issue of corporate lobbyists into the campaign picture
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 07:38 PM by brentspeak
Some people are saying, "He should never have run!" But if he didn't, just how much of an issue do you think "lobbying" would be this campaign season? It was Edwards who forced Hillary and Obama to try to outdo one-another on the lobbyist issue. Even McCain has tried to (falsely) portray himself as someone who's strings haven't been pulled by K-Street.

The reason? Edwards. For that, we have him to thank.

1. i was just saying to hubby.
"if this were europe it wouldn't be a big deal." sarkozy of france divorced his wife and married his mistress, supermodel carla bruni sarkozy. the french love her and she got a warm welcome by the queen of england.

edwards has so much that he can give to the country -- now he won't get that chance.

2. We need to join the 21st century
and learn to separate our personal sexual ethics from Government.

I had this conversation every day when I visited France during MonicaGate...

3. I think Kucinich had a little more credibility than Edwards on that issue.

4. People have a hard time
separating the politics from the people. People are weak but the principles and ideals are strong. What leads one to mess around may not be the same part of the brain and personality that leads one to pass laws to allow the American people to get fleeced or start a war or two.

Not one person I've ever come across can be trusted in EVERY way. Not a one. The trick is judging what you can trust a particular person with and acting accordingly. People that don't want to admit everyone has a lever or two are rightfully afraid of their own.

I don't want to have my girlfriend hanging out with him so much anymore but my opinion on his intentions as a part of government haven't changed.
Thank goodness this isn't Gary Hart all over again though. Hart had a real chance before it all blew up, in my opinion.
