Edwards Admits Affair

by BarbinMD
Fri Aug 08, 2008 at 12:50:37 PM PDT

John Edwards is an embarrassment to his Party, and of course, to Elizabeth:

John Edwards repeatedly lied during his Presidential campaign about an extramarital affair with a novice filmmaker, the former Senator admitted to ABC News today.

In an interview for broadcast tonight on Nightline, Edwards told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff he did have an affair with 44-year old Rielle Hunter, but said that he did not love her.

Edwards also denied he was the father of Hunter's baby girl, Frances Quinn, although the one-time Democratic Presidential candidate said he has not taken a paternity test.

Well, since he didn't love her, it's okay that he made a run for the Democratic Party's nomination knowing that he was lying through his teeth about this. And a Friday news dump on the day of the opening ceremonies of the Olympics? Coward.

Arrogant doesn't begin to describe Edwards' actions.

He's getting no love in that diary.

1. Yeah, that kind of jumped out at me, too

I think I'd understand it better if he DID believe he'd been in love with the other woman...This just makes him look like a slut.

3. Edwards actions were wrong. I will admit that.
But I love how you take another opportunity to attack another Democrat.

Going to stop your Hillary smearing long enough to go after Edwards?

9. He deserves to be criticized. Go to the link and read some of the comments
They're spot on.

I took the opportunity to express my disgust for his arrogance and lying. Problem?

7. Even Democrats engage in bad behavior worth condemnation.
This idea that we have to excuse bad behavior because of political affiliation is just stupid. I feel badly for the Edwards family and am extremely disappointed in Edwards--he was my second choice as candidate and my first as VP. However, the idea that we need to somehow give him a pass because he's one of us is ridiculous.

11. Edwards always carried himself with an air of swarmy and arrogance
not to kick a dog when he's down but DAMN the guy always made me feel uncomfortable. A little to slick. I do feel very bad for his family and supporters and wish this was not the case. :(

13. That might make it even worse.
So he didn't even care for her, he was just using her as a receptacle.

16. Cafferty on CNN just said John also mentioned, besides not 'loving' her...
that this happned during his wife's 'remission'.

caffery pretty well said. ... WTF has That got to do with anything?

so john had a loveless affair - just something to masturbate in once in a while,
but it's not so bad... because his wife wasn't officially dying at the time or anything.

Elizabeth, divorce the bastard and take his hair and house.

14. Edwards clearly loves himself too much, to love anyone else

And I never believed his act about helping the poor. His photo op
in New Orleans was just that. His shirt was spot clean.

Al Gore, on the other hand, was so sweaty, his hair was sticking to
his face as he personally rescued patients from a hospital. John
never had an original mission.

this along with your other big fuck up - co-sponsoring the iraq War takes you officially off my like list.

what a dissapointment.
what is it with these people that would risk all and everything for a piece of tail. wtf is wrong with men? (and women too)
