McCain has lost it
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 01:22 PM by cbc5g
His handlers are trying to make him sound louder and more dominant in an attempt to make him younger but it's clearly gone too far. I have CNN on in the other room and they must have showed a clip of him at his town hall in Iowa today because all I heard was yelling. He was almost screaming and he sounded angry and bitter. He was talking about Obama as if he truly hated the guy. He's off his rocker. Seriously, he's losing it. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was close to expecting him to yell , "get off my lawn Obama!".

13. Vroooom, Vrrrooom...."That's the sound of freedom".
I saw the clip of his dumpy round self stuffed in a blue shirt on The Daily Show when he was at the motorcycle event. I wanted to flee the room!

16. "We're going to WIN by winning!"
The comment was so stupid that he actually repeated it.

I think the "loud" tone is to make him appear stronger and younger, but it makes him look foolish and erratic. He is a sad, pathetic man.

14. I think McSame and I may be alike when it comes to
interaction with our "bosses". He, like me, probably agrees with them on just about everything then totally ignores what he just agreed to and goes his own way. In my case it works out just fine as I'm successful at my job, in McSame's case......not so much.

Maybe a cloud was going by and he was yelling at it as we would all do.

I think he's an incredibly flawed candidate and I have a hard time seeing him winning if all things are equal.

7. TPM's 'Dazed And Confused'
Bookends a full video of McCain fuckups with clips from the bike rally appearance - the last clip of him yelling to tell Congress to get back to work makes him sound like the Cranky Man In Your Neighborhood.

I speculated after Sturgis that his keepers have been telling him to be more animated in his live appearances in order to try and keep up with Obama. I really, really hope that they keep telling him and he keeps doing it, because the more he yells the less presidential he looks.

10. When will they realize there's nothing they can do to make him look
and sound younger, brighter, more hip?

Even when he was young, he had that high pitched voice. He was never very smart. And he looks like a ghoul.

But hey, keep trying McCain. Because it makes you look and sound even worse.

20. He's also dropping his "Gs" when he talks (just like Bush in '04)
In Iowa he said we're "gittin' instead of "we're getting." Problem is Hawkeyes are a bit more correct in their English than say, Mississippi or Tennesseeans (I'm not knocking regional dialects here - just pointing out McCain's pandering).

"We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell them stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time I took the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe so I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. Give me five bees for a quarter you'd say. Now where were we, oh ya. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because if the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones."

Grampa: "I got separated from my platoon after we parachuted into Duseldorf so I rode out the rest of the war posing as a German cabaret singer. Won't you come home Frantbrelda, won't you come home."

Bart: "Is that story true Grampa?"

Grampa: "Most of it. I did wear a dress for a period in the 40s. Oh, they had designers then."

Grampa: "I leave these: a box of mint-condition 1918 liberty-head silver dollars. You see, back in those days, rich men would ride around in Zeppelins, dropping coins on people, and one day I seen J. D. Rockefeller flying by. So I run of the house with a big washtub and, where are you going?"

Homer: "Dad, we'd love to stay here and listen to your amusing antidote, but we have to take these coins to the mall and spend em!"

Grampa: "Anyway, about my washtub. I just used it that morning to wash my turkey, which in those days was known as a walking bird. We'd always have walking bird on Thanksgiving with all the trimmings: cranberries, injun eyes, and yams stuffed with gunpowder. Then we'd all watch football, which in those days was called baseball."
