MONTPELIER — U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders is going to try to woo independent voters to support the presidential campaign of his Senate colleague Barack Obama.

Sanders is an independent.

He’s hosting two barbecues and rallies for Obama on Saturday.

Independents will support Obama over Republican Sen. John McCain.

...

Sanders says there’s no question in his mind independents will support Obama over Republican Sen. John McCain.

2. That's great
but I don't see Sanders as representative of the typical independent voter in this country.

9. Agreed--I hope Obama plans to do more than this to woo Indies
and crossovers--and they usually aren't far lefties and socialist types. Haven't seen much from Obama on this yet, but he's losing Indies to McSenile in some polls.

3. If we don't get the Independent vote
in VT there is no chance of Obama winning this election anywhere.
Thanks Bernie but me thinks you like the excuse to have barbeues!

7. I hope that this will please the leftier-than-thou folks
Who are upset because Obama doesn't get straight A's on the purity test.
