I'm getting tired of this. McCain puts out yet another ad attacking Obama as being out of touch.
Latest attack spot suggests Obama's out of touch with the average American because of his celebrity, economic policies.

"Life in the spotlight must be grand, but for the rest of us times are tough.... Painful taxes, hard choices for your budget. Not ready to lead. That's the real Obama."

Watch it above. Read script here.

Changes line of attack on Obama and taxes, saying he "voted to raise taxes on people making just $42,000," when in the past the figure they cited was $32,000.

Ad will be cycled into thier battleground state buy.

Obama needs to respond stronger to these types of ads in my opinion

16. The Obama camp won't run and ad saying these things.
They want to be above the fray, and they won't go there. A fatal mistake, if they don't push back EFFECTIVELY.

2. McCain will use higher taxes and fear in his propaganda.
I'm betting that the closer we get to the election, the fear factor will show it's ugly head. Terra!

isn't a great counterpoint.

24 hours is the standard time to craft a response ad in politics.
On the other hand, it seems the Obama campaign has decided that responding to effective attack ads is beneath them.

26. I am sure that the whole campaign is NOT
going on vacation nor is it going to take a one week nap. I also hope that they will deploy a whole bunch of high power and effective surrogates. As to your comment about responding to ads, I am not sure what it is based on.

17. Counterpoint? I thought this trip was planned well in advance of the commercial.
Perhaps the commercial is counterpoint to the trip.

Or maybe Obama is actually FROM Hawaii, and is going to see family.

Or maybe he's a 'leetist lefty goofin on the beaches with all the other swarthy rich Liberals.

27. Yes, the trip was pre-planned. And it fits nicely into McCain's claim that Obama
is an effete celebrity who would rather preen for cameras and hang out in exotic locales than fight for American families.

11. He's drilling the same "out of touch, celeb" message into voters' heads. Obama needs to respond
with just as consistent a message about MCCAIN and how he's not a maverick, a 3rd Bush term, etc.

15. mccain is out of touch
rachel m reminded us that this must be ABOUT mccain. so long as it is about obama responding to attacks, it is about obama's character (game plan for repugs). well, crap, I didn't see Rachel talk about this cuz I missed her yesterday! and it wasn't on Youtube-- but I read about it here and it made sense. How do you dispute the LIES but not focus on them? o course, problem is MSM picks up McSame's lies as talking points.

We need to go out and ASK questions about mcCain everywhere we can. His war record? Hmmm...His wife's financials? How many houses? In a google-able way:-)

Oh, yeah. Obama who went on scholarship is out of touch, you LYING, MISLEADING piece of GARBAGE.

mccain out of touch
McCain out of touch
McCain liar
McCain rich liar
McCain friend lie

just cuz...

The media should be called on this.

23. It's because McCain has no ground game. He is trying to create ABO
Anyone But Obama

There are a couple of parallels to '04 here: Bush/Rove DID have a good ground game in the works and there was a major sentiment of ABB. Although Kerry didn't go super negative, many outside liberal groups did with all kinds of negative ads.

It didn't work.

Also, the anti-Bush feelings rose out of the grassroots. I feel like there is a manufactured feel to creating ABO. It may work partially, but not to the degree ABB was.

Life with owning 8 houses, spending over 100,000 a year on household help, flying around in a private jet, and wearing $500 shoes must be grand, but for the rest of us times are tough.

John McCain wants to give more tax breaks to him and his wealthy friends.

He promises to continue the policies of the Bush Administration.

Painful times, hard choices for your budget. Yet McCain worries about giving Oil Companies and wealthy friends more tax breaks. That’s the real McCain.

This OPENS THE DOOR to disclose facts about the REAL McCain. I hope some group takes advantage of it.
