people who can't tell a blatant lie from the truth are bad for the system.

The local rag's headline make's GW look like he's taking the high ground over John Kerry.

gonna be used to get everyone screaming to ban the 527s. The GOP will try to change the rules anytime we start to function well under them. They hated Clinton cuz he could raise campaign $$ very well. Now that liberals are finding they can pull together a lot of smaller donations and get a voice via the 527s, they are gonna try to stop them. They already tried to keep our ads off via censorship masquerading as 'policy' at networks and we pointed out the double standards and got ads on the air.

Look for efforts to attempt to stop web broadcasts of radio programming by 2006 or defiantly 2008 if DEMs do not get control of the Congress. They will try very hard to keep the liberal voice out of American homes. They will not give up.

Yes, the real problem is people who can not think critically enough to know a load of crap from real information. The 527s just level the playing field a bit. The GOP can't let that happen, cuz if they can't control the communication, they are in trouble. The truth will set them out of office and they know it.

2. You may be right, but it won't work.
That loophole was left by the GOP for the GOP, who had loads of Scaife money to play with and dozens of bogus focus groups to play with it. I think the smear boats thing was their main shot, and they never expected it to be anything but the only 527 ad out there.

That the left got an infusion of cash from Soros and other plutocrats who realize Bush is a moron who is about the queer the deal for all of them was a real shock to the GOP. That the ads produced by these groups have been both slick and effective has horrified them. Belatedly, they've realized that their clever little loophoe has risen up to strangle them.

It will be illegal for any 527 ad to play after September 2. The smear boat ad was their last and best shot. This will be the first year we'll be without that breathy female who tells us to call our candidate's office and ask him why he breakfasts on live kittens. The GOP will have no way to discourage voters but their own ads featuring Bush doing his own dirty work.

Willie Horton aint gonna work this time.
