Bayh Buzz Soars
Time notes at today's event with Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Evan Bayh "there was also a very expensive (and aggressive) high-definition TV crew shooting what appeared to be ad footage as the two worked the room."

1. Not my first choice, but not my last.... and if he can deliver Indiana, he's worth it.

I don't mind him going to state funerals for the next 8 years.

2. Say it isn't so, Barack. Say it isn't so.
I can probably think of worse choices, but not many.

I have to believe Barack is smarter than this...

What's So Bad?
Bayh is boring but who cares? He might be able to swing Indiana, that's worth all the boredom.

5. He supported the Iraq invasion, for one thing.
Cheer-led it, in fact.

He's also a DLCer. I don't see either as a good fit for Obama, even for "balance."

8. So, He's Not President
The only thing is that isn't good life insurance for Obama. Obama, if he wants to life insurance should put someone more liberal on as VP.

And no, sadly, I'm not kidding. And I'm not really worried about the random racist.

I'm concerned about the people that handle assassinations and coups, groups like CIA people and the military and oil guys.

Obama isn't supporting their agenda, he might think twice about naming someone more conservative as VP.

6. I'm tired of discrimination and bigotry. It's time to do away with both.
Evan Bayh:
I do not support same sex marriage. I believe marriage should be between one man and one woman. That is currently the law in Indiana and is currently the law nationally. I support the Defense of Marriage Act that prohibits federal recognition of same sex marriage and prevents Indiana from being forced to recognize same sex marriages performed in other states.

That one man and one woman is a Republican talking point. If they truly want to preserve and protect marriage, do away with divorce, don't pick out a class of people and tell them they don't have the same rights as every one else. It's just wrong.

Add this to the Donnie McClurkin thing, and one could easily wonder how Barack really feels about gay rights.

3. On Sunday's MTP, one of the panelists said that Obama would be having "face time"
with Bayh, Kaine and Biden this week.

7. He'll do fine. He won't let Obama down, if he's Obama's choice. And I
also think there's a Hillary angle here--Bayh was going to run for Prez himself, and apparently decided to abandon his own ambitions and become a big, loyal Hillary backer, probably with the promise to be considered her VP. I mean, who thought the mighty Clinton machine would fail? Maybe Obama making Bayh the VP is a favor to Hillary?

10. I will support whomever Obama chooses as his running mate, as I trust his judgment.
If he thinks Bayh is his best VP candidate, then so be it. I want to win. Bayh did well opposite Joe Lieberman on a Sunday show recently and well this morning opposite our closeted Florida governor this morning on 'Morning Jerk.'
