B&N : sold out of copies of Swiftless book which don't even exist
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 11:24 PM by NewYorkerfromMass
So the idiots bulk ordered so many copies of the book they forgot to leave some for real live people to buy!

Controversial book "Unfit for Command," which fires an election-year salvo at Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry's war record, has claimed one unintended victim -- bookstore chain Barnes & Noble Inc .

Barnes & Noble, the world's largest bookseller, on Monday issued a statement saying it had sold out of the book and, in effect, held up its hands in surrender to what it called "thousands of complaints" from both supporters and detractors of the book.....

...It is not Barnes & Noble's fault, she said, but rather small publisher Regnery Publishing who cut the chain's original order in half.

"We've been put in the difficult position of having to defend ourselves over a title we can't seem to get enough copies of from the publisher," Barnes & Noble chief executive Steve Riggio said in the statement.

1. LOL! The more people angrier about this issue the better
Unfortunately, it won't take the publisher long to crank out more printings of the stupid book. I hope they get sued for libel. I really do.

2. I wonder if Regnery is having 2nd thoughts?
Maybe the recent exposure that the authors are neither swift boators nor truthful might be motivation to throttle way back on releasing?

7. Regnery is the father of an avowed white supremacist

who plans to start his own "whites only" dating service, to cater to white supremacists who for some reason can't find a date. His son is the heir of the company, so I doubt papa minds. For that reason, I also doubt he minds bad press from the media. He can probably just tell his readers it's a Jewish conspiracy to protect John Kerry, whose a Jew and a commie-VietCong sympathizer.

4. Ha! Don't blame the
bulk sales for this one (at least not bulk sales from libraries)!

I am friends with several librarians and they are REFUSING to purchase this book! In contrast--the librarians showed strong support for the Clintons! The libraries in my area ordered more than a dozen (!!!) of Hillary's book and about 8 of Bill's!!!

Librarians are the greatest and most of them are liberal Democrats!!!! If the freeptards want to read this one (or just chew on the cover) they had better buy their own copy --they won't be finding it at many libraries I bet cha!!!

5. That's just not right.
If I wanted to go to the library to research some things out of the book, I would expect to find it there. Whether or not it's in the fiction or non-fiction, is a different story.

6. True. After this all brings down Bush
people will need to see the lies he financed which lead to his demise.
