So did Obama just set the tone for this week?
And will he keep it up?

Looks like McCain will have to play defensive now...

1. Er, I'm afraid I don't know what you are referring to.
Sorry to be dense. What did Obama say/do?

9. This might be a problem because he's openly supporting McCain's oil reserves issue
which will give McCain an opening to hit him on it and rest assured, he will.

3. If McCain starts flinging crap the media will follow. They always do.

The Republicans are trying to make a big deal about tire gauges today but they look like idiots.

I guess that is the idiotic talking point they are pushing today. I don't see any traction though.

Both Sides Inflate Tire Pressure Battle

Monday, August 4th, 2008

The Obama team defends the Democrat’s call for drivers to properly inflate their tires in order to conserve gas.

Campaign e-mails reporters a favorable story from NASCAR.com and notes that the Department of Energy makes the same recommendation. Mentions that GOP Govs. Crist and Schwarzenegger have made similar calls.

Meanwhile, top McCain aide Salter, “practically giddy,” hands out tire gauges to reporters aboard McCain’s campaign plane.

And campaign topper Davis uses the spat in a fund-raising e-mail:“I’m asking for your help in putting Senator Obama’s ‘tire gauge’ energy policy to the test. With an immediate donation of $25 or more, we will send you an ‘Obama Energy Plan’ tire pressure gauge.”

Earlier: The RNC says it will deliver gauges reading “Obama’s energy plan” to Washington newsrooms.

5. Right, McSame makes a 12 dollar video and media plays it through 43543534 news cycles until
...everyone remembers it.

Of course, Obama's add will be shown in passing and in part

10. Which is why Obama can't take the "high road" in the current media environment
unless he wants to end up like John Kerry.

Ridicule is an effective tool- it's beyond time that the Democrats learn how to use it.

6. And we all know when McCain is on the defensive...
he is a condescending, arrogant, nasty mouthed prick!!!!

" * Former Sen. Bob Smith bluntly says that McCain's "temper would place this country at risk in international affairs, and the world perhaps in danger. In my mind, it should disqualify him."
* Sen. Thad Cochran says the thought of McCain in the White House "sends a cold chill down my spine."
* Former AZ Republican Party executive director Jon Hinz wonders "What happens if he gets angry in crisis"? and concludes "I've just seen too much. That temper, the intolerance. It worries me."
* Conservative AZ state senator Karen Johnson says "I don't think that he forgets anyone who ever opposed him, that he can ever really respect or trust them again. That goes for people here and overseas."

7. Yes and it's also his 'screw you' to last week's McCain media
barrage.

He's staying on message and staying on schedule.

8. I hope so....
We can't let McCain get away with attempting to portray himself as being friendly to the environment. Obama is right, McCain isn't going to be all that different from Bush on this issue. After finally doing a little digging on McCain's voting record, it's clear he's more full of sh*t than I originally expected when it comes to energy.

The funniest find for me was reading McCain's quote on his own website that says the goal is to reduce dependency on foreign oil by the year 2025 but then discovering he voted NO on a bill that wanted to reduce dependency on foreign oil by 40% by 2025.
