Cindy McCain is nothing but a Liar!
Cindy McCain LIED about going negative:

"I believe, we're going to see a great debate, which the American public deserves, more importantly. None of this negative stuff, though. You won't see it come out of our side at all, because my husband is absolutely opposed to any negative campaigning at all.
I believe I can speak for my husband on the same thing, we'd rather not win than to have to do that. That's not worth winning."

Will the media go after Cindy for her lies?

1. The media has been extremely kind to Cindy McCain
I don't recall anything negative said about her at all. So I doubt they will pick up on this either.

2. Yup. They'll see it alright, and step right over it, like it should be expected
considering the tools that they are.

3. It's not a lie if she said it before the negative campaigning started.
Unless she had advance word of the ads that were going to be used.

4. She's a liar now.
She basically provided a pledge which has been broken.

She promised and didn't follow through.

19. Why should we give her ANY credence?
She deceived and slept with another woman's husband. While I am not in any way absolving him, she was a party to this deception, she knew he was married and living with his wife and had kids, and she decided to go ahead anyway.

That is not a moral person, IMO.

Like she needs you to "defend" her.

She already has the media on her side.

Unfair my ass. :eyes:

8. She certainly doesn't need my defense. But those of us who really are
for change and a different type of politics need to speak out against actions supposedly from our own side which make us no different from Karl Rove and company.

10. So you are saying that she told the truth......
Edited on Sat Aug-02-08 03:29 PM by FrenchieCat
and that she has kept her promise?

Did you support Obama during the primaries? And if you didn't, were you for changing politics as they are applied at that time?

11. She may very well have thought her husband wouldn't engage in such a campaign.
Edited on Sat Aug-02-08 03:33 PM by Benhurst
She and her adopted child were the targets of the Rove gang in 2000. Do you have any evidence she wasn't telling the truth when she expressed her hope this would be a different type of campaign?

How's that?

You feel better now?

who has chosen to be a spokesperson for her husband, and a most effective one at that. I'm sure she is perfectly capable of taking the heat of a presidential campaign.

If she had opted out of the campaign, then she, like her children, would not have been a legitimate target for criticism.

15. Hardly a fair comparion. Michelle is a highly-educated, professional woman

and, in my opinion, is better than her husband when it comes to addressing groups and speaking forthrightly on the issues. She can more than hold her own, and I really can't see her sitting passively on the sidelines. If she were to do so, the campaign would lose one of its strongest assets.

Mrs. McCain, who has a history of not being well and reportedly did not want her husband to run, has been trotted out to do the traditional "future first lady" appearances all political wives are subjected to. To go after her for saying during such an appearance she thought we were going to have a clean campaign is just silly and a bit Rovian, to say the least, trying to make something out of nothing.

Maybe we all should try to practice the "New Politics" Obama talks about.
God knows, John McCain himself provides us with enough to go after every day.

17. wow- Cindy has got you wrapped around her
poor little pale fragile finger.

You want to learn a little about Cindy? Check out how "John" was just about to fold his campaign a year ago, and look who bank-rolled his resurrection, and what rules she set down that had to be followed- which included firing his staff.-

She isn't the delicate little thing you paint her to be- But you aren't the only one to fall for the act.

She's a player- and she's good at it.

Edited on Sat Aug-02-08 04:27 PM by Benhurst
The OP, unfortunately, was just a Rovian type smear based on something she said which she may really have believed when she said it.

18. I'm sorry but the only difference that I see is your willingness
to treat these two women differently.

IN terms of education and accomplishments, I believe that Ms. McCain holds a Bachelor's and a Masters, and in addition, has had all of the advantages and trappings that comes from growing up priviledged in a ultra wealthy family.

If I recall Cindy McCain was the first one to throw salvo at Michelle Obama with her "I don't know about you, but I'm Very proud of MY country?"

In otherwords, I find you full of shit.

You've never been about "New Politics", and pretending now in order to defend Cindy McCain
is quite enlightening.

She's not worth defending, but go ahead anyway.

16. I'd like to see McCain look Bridget in the eye if he ever takes the time
to really 'parent' her- and explain the "humor" that he's engaging in.

John Mccain is a very ugly old man. He uses people and plays the "humble, good boy"- But his actions speak the truth.

And I don't admire Cindy for enabling him to continue to live a lie, and damage lives. She is part of his 'team'- she owns the negative campaign just as much as he does- It's her money that has kept him floating.

Pointing out the truth isn't "going negative"- Making up lies is- and being disingenuous is. Both of which Mccain and his team have done repeatedly, and 'with pride' this week. That needs to be addressed, and denounced. If they didn't pull this crap, there'd be no reason to "call" Cindy on her lie- or at the very least, on her broken "promise".

Flip-flops probably aren't 'classy' enough to define her - but she is a hypocrite.

26. Unless you can read her mind, and she was intentionally telling a falsehood
at the time, you can't say she lied.

There's no such thing as a retroactive lie. A broken promise is a broken promise -- not the same as a lie.

I see no more reason for us to attack her than I do for the Rethugs to attack Michelle. The wives aren't the candidates.

5. Hmmmm. I wonder how long it took to program her for that statement...
However, if this is a little older than a few days, she was not lying at the time, merely another one who didn't realize the depths people go to be elected.

In any case, I don't care what Cindy McCain says, I wouldn't vote for McCain if I was beaten w/sticks...;)
