Why aren't Republicans ever accused of playing the "race card" when they tell us Obama is racist?
So McCain wants us to believe that Obama has been playing the "race card". John McCain believes it is perfectly fine for him to run an ad in which he places Obama's face on a $100 bill, but as soon as Obama says something about the Republicans trying to scare people away from voting for him by claiming his face does not look right on our currency John McCain tells us that Obama is using his race to his advantage.

And our media falls for it hook, line, and sinker. They tell us nothing about the fact that McCain's attack ad which featured the $100 bill, but they go on and on about how Obama is using his race to his advantage. It is as if all our history is just suddenly behind us, and now it is some huge advantage to be black in America. Never mind the fact that no black politician has ever gotten elected to the Presidency despite the advantages they tell us that the "race card" gives them. Never mind the fact that despite this "race card" Congress and corporate executive boards are still dominated by white faces. We are supposed to ignore all of American history and pretend that Obama has a "race card" that he plays to his advantage.

Of course while our pundits fall all over themselves repeating McCain's talking points and telling us that Obama is playing the race card they are more than willing to let white Republicans make race based attacks.

How many times have you heard John McCain condemn his supporters for playing the race card when they accuse Obama of being racist against whites because he went to a church they disapprove of? We heard about how Rev. Wright was so racist against white people for months, and we were constantly told that Obama shared his racism. And yet the people who claim racism against whites are never accused of playing the race card.

And where was John McCain to accuse Rush Limbaugh of playing the race card when he called Obama a "Halfrican"? Where was John McCain to accuse Fox News of playing the race card when they called Michelle Obama a "Baby Mama"? Where was John McCain to accuse countless right-wingers of playing the race card when they told us that Obama was a black Muslim?

It is time to call out John McCain and the pundits that repeat his bullshit. The people who accuse Obama of playing the race card, are quite often the same people who are either engaging in racist attacks themselves or are looking the other way when those racist attacks happen. You will not hear John McCain accuse his racist supporters of playing the race card no matter how blatantly racist their attacks are. McCain has done nothing to stop racist attacks against Obama, but the moment Obama responds to those racist attacks Obama is treated as the bad guy.

There is no race card that works to Obama's advantage, if Obama is the victim of a racist attack and he responds to it he will be slandered for playing the "race card". If he does not respond then the racist attacks will gain credibility with people. He is damned if he responds, and he is damned if he doesn't respond. For the media pretend that there is a race card Obama can play, proves to us that the media wants to protect racists and so does John McCain.

2. It seems some think whites are the only victims of racism.
We were hearing for months about how Obama was racist against whites simply because he was associated with Rev. Wright. Yet I never heard anyone who was accusing Obama of being racist get accused of playing the race card, but the moment Obama makes even the slightest acknowledgment that racism may exist he gets accused of playing the race card. It is very interesting to me that this accusation only gets thrown at people on one side.

dems defend. Its their M.O. to say something ridiculous, and watch the dems scramble.

See what happened when General Clark spoke the truth, in what some/many felt was counterintuitive?
