Obama needs to kick the shit out of McCain and the GOP !
OK folks, let's just get real here. Remember wimpy McGovern, wimpy Carter, wimpy Mondale, wimpy Dukakis, and wimpy Kerry? Hm, did anyone out there learn anything at all? If not, let me take your blinders off of you and present a dose of reality: politics is TOUGH business and Americans won't vote for a wimp. Negative campaigning, sadly, works. Now it's still a little early, and Obama has shown he can be tough so I'm not too worried yet. But the GOP sludge machine is going to hit this guy with stinking crap that will make the swiftboaters and the Willie Horton ads look like a tiptoe through the tulips. So just understand this, Obama better hit this asswipe McBUSH good and hard or he will lose and deserve to. If Democrats are still so naive that they haven't learned once and for all that politics is a brawl, then they deserve to lose. And oh my, isn't there just a mountain of ammo to fire at McBUSH and the failed GOP corporate toadies. So just you get ready for a rumble and put away this nicey nice wimpy idiocy about "taking the high" road. That's a dead-on recipe for LOSING. Obama and Dems need to go on OFFENSE and kick the shit out of McCain and the GOP. Period!

1. The Re-Pubic-Rats are imploding daily. Soon they will be as
relevant as the Whigs and Tories. Neanderthals no longer exist and soon republicans will not longer exist. The internal combustion engine is an antique concept and so are Re-Pubic Rats. :dem:

2. Voters would grow weary - the campaign season is too long as it is.
3/4 of Americans probably don't even know who the candidates are.

Even I'm tired of all this campaign shit already. If you saturate the airwaves too much average working stiffs will get turned off waaaaaay before election day.

Obama will kick the old mans ass when the time is right. He didn't get to where he is today without knowing how to handle a good streetfight. He won't make the mistakes the Kerry campaign did.

He'll be our next President.

7. Negative ads works the same as marketing.
Issues don't matter for the most part. Its all image making. Just like jingles, repeated attacks have a cerebral quality that wears down the listener. Tell a lie enough they believe it. Those techniques are what sells everything from deodorant to cars. Its a science. It works. Its defeated us as the poster says. / We don't represent the majority voting public. We are some what more issue oriented. / I feared in the primaries Obama was too nice, too intelligent. We will know this week how Obama copes with the Moses attack ads. So far, I predict McCain will gain in the polls, unless Obama goes negative. McCain will certainly stay negative. What else does he have. / If the polls show this to be the case , then our money need to to Move on and not Obama. They know how to fight.

11. Americans don't pay attention to the election until after Labor Day. Right now,
the media is conducting a fully coordinated attempt to define Obama. He gets the most coverage, but it is all negative or worded in a way that is not favorable. It is starting to look like McCain will get a lot of the "independents", but we are going to have more registered voters. Obama has and will continue to build a more enthusiastic base of support.

To a lesser extent, (IMO) McCain is defining himself and it is not all good for him. He is showing himself as a snarling small dog nipping at Obama's heels (I saw cartoon somewhere that captured this).

3. Agreed
This is probably the basis for so much Low-brow Freeper Neanderthal support.

They don’t understand politics, the economy, the constitution, or how to spell for that matter, but they do understand their guy verbally roughed the other guy up

ERrrah – (sound of beer can crushing on forehead)

4. Hey RBInMaine. I see where Barack is opening up his office in Portland today!
:woohoo:

Obama campaign opens office in Maine

August 2, 2008

PORTLAND, Maine—Democratic Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is formally opening its office in Maine's largest city.

Gov. John Baldacci, a former supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, will be joined Saturday by House Speaker Glenn Cummings and State Auditor Neria Douglass as they kick off the grand opening of "Obama's Campaign for Change" office in Portland.

Afterward, there'll be a voter registration drive.

Baldacci threw his support behind Obama after Clinton pulled out of the race. Since then, he joined other governors in discussing issues with Obama in Chicago.

6. I posted essentially the same thing last night...
votes ran 2/3 against me, 1/3 for...

I say again; ask former Presidents Dukakis,Kerry, Mondale, and Gore if the watch and wait strategy works. President Clinton knew that you couldn't do it that way...and he won...twice.

13. Hi - fellow Mainer
First let me begin by saying I hope the first off-shore drilling rig is right off Walker's Point!!!!..and that it leaks!

Second - we always have too much faith in the (gasp) campaign (the holy campaign and the brilliant people who run it, blah, blah). Well, who the hell would have thought that a power house like the Clinton political cartel would have been so fucking stupid that they paid millions to an idiot who had NO plan! And remember this (which should make you crap your pants): Obama was a phenom at the beginning of the primaries and sucked down the points early. Then he got his ass wiped by Clinton in the second half and his campaign just stood there. I've seen too much of this nutty believing that a campaign staff is just waiting to play all the brilliant cards. They were visibly knocked on their ass this week and despite all their "we will be ready for them", just had no clue what to do. If next week goes the same way, Obama needs to hire some balls (or iron tits) onto his team.

14. You are like a pure asshole, hey?
You called Obama a shoe shine boy in another thread, and now you are talking about how his ass wiped.

Why are you on these board, my friend? It appears that you do not support the Democratic nominee.

15. She beat him and she beat him by wide margins
The second half was not good for him and his campaign just didn't know how to put up a fight in those states. Now they are going to have to. Clinton ended up not served well by her campaign. Obama has to watch the next weeks and determine if he needs to rearrange the furniture. She waited too long. He now has to be prepared to move within days or hours as things change on the trail. Axelrod seemed dazed this week. I think he needs some strong Blacks on his staff who can speak to racism much better than these white staffers. They can explain "code" words that are going right over the heads of some of his staff.

17. Obama didn't want to do what Clinton did to him, because
he is better than that.

Thank God for it.

But than, calling Obama a shoe shine boy, I know exactly where you are coming from; the PUMA part of the arena, obviously.
