Wal-Mart denies that it told employees how to vote
Associated Press

Published on: 08/01/08

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's largest retailer, denied a report Friday that it had pressured employees to vote against Democrats in November because of worries that a bill the party supports would make it easier for workers to unionize.

The measure, called the Employee Free Choice Act, would allow labor organizations to unionize workplaces without secret ballot elections. It was co-sponsored by Barack Obama, the presumed Democratic presidential candidate, and opposed by John McCain, the presumed Republican nominee.

Wal-Mart takes aim at Democratic critics
No. 1 retailer sends 'voter guides' to its 18,000 Iowa employees, criticizing presidential hopefuls who have joined company's critics.
August 16 2006: 8:05 AM EDT

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Wal-Mart Stores is hitting back at some leading Democratic presidential hopefuls who have joined with the company's critics recently.

The world's largest retailer announced it is sending out what it terms a "voter education guide" to its 18,000 Iowa employees, criticizing politicians who have recently joined with the union-backed group "Wake Up Wal-Mart" for a series of rallies. Iowa holds the nation's first presidential caucus, and potential candidates are already visiting the state.

3. We had friends over this evening who work for Wal-Mart
Everything they are being accused of on this is true.

They were at our house discussing the local Wal-Mart and the store manager.

12. C&L seems to be down at the moment; not just your link but the entire site.
I'm sure it'll be up later later, but do you mind a hint about what's in your link?

7. I'm sure they didn't
They just told their employees of all the "horrible" things that would happen if the Democrats win in November.

Just like they never fire any employees for union organizing. They just fire them for insubordination, taking too long of breaks, or stacking merchandise too close to the ceiling.

11. I think people should start picketing Walmart.
All of these grassroots organizations should form picket lines outside of every store in this country.
