Just now on the MSNBC KO show they showed an interview with McCain on the David letterman show where McCain said "the anthrax may have come from Iraq". McLame is one super asscarrot.

anthrax attacks, and if we find out that they were involved, "that's when some tough decisions will have to be made." :eyes: Obama should exploit this!

2. The YouTube should be circulated to show how he could lie with a straight face.
Also, other interviews should be tacked on to show how this administration not only used their own people, but used us. Pulling those old clips out of the drawer is more convincing than present-day comments by anyone involved in the campaign, because we now know more of the story. These clips just fill in the cracks.

I keep thinking I can't be surprised anymore about anything they have done or could do, but I am constantly proven wrong.

4. that was nuts!
Letterman asks about Afghanistan and McCain IMMEDIATELY says "It's going well, the next step might be Iraq, that's where we think that the anthrax is coming from."

But I imagine this doctor's suicide story is dominating the news cycle and might quite possibly dominate through the weekend.

11. Rummy and Wolfowitz were pushing an Iraq-anthrax link really hard
The claimed connection had gotten into the papers just a few days earlier, which may be where McCain picked it up. (See http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Suicide_raises_questions_about_attempts_to_0801.html)

This was all part of what the Office of Special Plans was doing in the fall of 2001 -- they wanted to gin up a war on Iraq as soon as they were done in Afghanistan, but the British wouldn't play along without better evidence. That's why the Niger forgeries came into the picture in early 2002 -- the anthrax claims weren't panning out, and they needed something else to convince the British and a few other allies to get on board.

12. It's a simple question, really and not hard to ask.
WHY did he think it may have come from Iraq? Based on what exactly as told to you by whom?

16. Sure he did. His mission was to support the idea of invading Iraq
I read somewhere here recently at DU that he did his best to drum it up among his colleagues in the Senate.

He's scum.
