OFFSHORE DRILLING SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE!!!!!11!!
Edited on Fri Aug-01-08 05:48 PM by Gman

There is NO shortage of gasoline! Do you see any lines at the pumps?? OF course not! Therefore there is NO shortage!

The problem of high gas prices is speculation by investors AND the trashed third-world level dollar. Oil is priced in dollars. If the dollar was at the same level it was in 2000 when Clinton left and if speculation on oil had been outlawed, gas would STILL be in the $1.50 - $2.00 (max) range. This is NOTHING NEW! This has been talked about for months now.

It PISSES ME OFF that we're not over-shouting the the oil companies wanting to drill off shore and in ANWAR as a flat out misleading bald-faced lie of an answer to high oil prices. This is a STEALTH end run by the oil companies and a last gasp effort while Bush is still president to loot the rest of the country and get what they haven't been able to get in almost 8 years.

If democrats are "vulnerable" on offshore drilling its because they're not out-shouting the RW on this horrible lie.

...sorry for the rant. It's really pissing me off after the GOP grandstanding on the floor of the House today. And it's all one big huge lie. This is THE BIGGEST LIE of this entire election.

1. Off-shore drilling is CERTAINLY no solution to any of the energy problems we are having.

2. I almost wish the Dems would call their bluff
and say okay to drilling. It won't happen. This is a political ploy and nothing more. The oil companies have plenty of oil leases they have begun to drill. It would cost money that would cut into their profits.

You are right. There is no gas shortage.

The Repugs were in control of the everything for years and did nothing about drilling. If the oil companies thought this was such a good deal, they would have pushed for it years ago when they could have. Now they can paint the Democrats as obstructionists.
