After seeing Moyers with Kevin Phillips...Despicable Texans /Dirty Fightin
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 05:24 PM by KoKo01
Phillips said. This is what we are dealing with here. Phillips (former Nixon operative) showed visibile signs of distain for the Bushies, and has written a book about the Bush/Nazi ties. American Dynasty: Aristocracy, Fortune, and the Politics of Deceit in the House of Bush
by Kevin Phillips

"You get in the ring with them and you gotta be willing to fight and Kerry is Not Responding...and Kerry doesn't have Distinct/Differences from Bush," a loose quote from Phillip's comments.

The final shoe is dropping here, that Kerry's "Daschle Strategy" of playing fair, and going for the "high road" is NOT succeeding.

Is it in Kerry to attack? Seems it is from my readings of him. But, Kerry's strategy of doing a "close on the deal just before the voters come to the polls" might have worked in Massachusetts...but will it work in a National Election when the Media Whores have trashed you well before the National Voters get into the polling booths.

Kerry may have pulled "rabbits out of hats" in Massachusetts (a fairly liberal state) but this AIN'T MASSACHUSETTS and sitting back and doing a
"Daschle" might just NOT WORK THIS TIME...

1. I don't know about Kerry himself but
his aides and strategists and talking heads need to FIND SOME GUMPTION when they go on national tv.

My gawd, the other side gets all red in the face flailing arms around and talking over our side.........when will our Kerry reps PUNCH back?

PUT AL SHARPTON ON fercrissakes!! (or someone who can "box" like he does)

2. Sharpton would be "EXCELLENT." But lots of Dem "purists" remember
Tywana Brawley case and so Sharpton is considered an "untouchable." I assume it's Kerry campaign who feels this.

I'm old enough to remember Sharpton and his "grand standing" over this terrible tabloid case.

But, he has a "good mouth" and can express himself in a way that "average Americans" (populists) can understand.

Why not put Carol Moseley-Braun on FGS...if Sharpton is too much for you?

Why are there so few "people of color" out there defending Kerry? And, I do NOT count Donna Brazille in that group...She wrote a book...she worked for Gore..time for her to be a "minor spokesperson," from the Gore days.

PLEASE! Give us some Hispanic's and other "people of color" besides Pakistani/Indian "financial writers." Not trashing the P/I's but FGS...give us EVEN MORE DIVERSITY...that this group!

3. I was surprised at how outspoken Kevin Phillips was when

talking to Bill Moyers. I read "American Dynasty" and it's critical of the Bushes but not in a partisan-sounding manner. Everything is carefully stated and well supported. I did not expect Phillips to speak so forcefully.

us out here...and worrying that Kerry needs to do more. Kerry shouldn't look on this as another successful Senatorial Campaign where he rides in on the "white horse" in the last weeks and slays his opponent.

Phillips and Moyers...seemed to me to be saying...he shoulda been on this from the beginning and known "Swift Boat Stuff" would come up.

They are trying to tell him...YOU CANNOT WAIT! This just "ain't your typical Senate Race." These guys you are up against have the Whole Arsenal of the US Government Behind them! You, Kerry are "puny" when looking at it all from that perspective.

The show was an ALARM to us...A WARNING...

5. Kerry's campaign is scripted and controlled
The plan is in place and they plan to stick to it.
The folks from the Eastern Caost get pretty snippy if you bring up any cracks in the dike at this point. The idea is to keep the candidate above this. In a perfect world, this is how it should be

I think if we want attacks, we'll be seeing them from the 527's in a flurry coming soon to a location near you.

6. I thought Kerry was fighting back
Maybe it took too long, but it is happening.
