7. Why panic? This is a huge year for democrats but McCain is still tied with Obama.
If anything, they know winning will be a miracle. So they're doing what they can to chip away at Obama's imagine. Smartly, Obama's people haven't responded much to the bait. But to suggest the McCain team is panicky, I think, is a bit of wishful thinking. At this same point 4 years ago Kerry's lead over Bush was very similar. Bush won anyway, and McCain is nowhere near as unpopular as Bush was.

If anything, McCain has been gaining in the polls. Their success with these ads is, far from scaring them, emboldening them (to steal Bush's word).

4. Party time in about 2 hours.
I never have birthday parties, I usually go out of town on a trip. I'm just not into it. My wife insisted this year. So here we go....
