Please Obama... PICK JOE BIDEN!! He Is ONE Person Who CAN & WILL
do the SUPER Smack Downs on McCain! I've not expressed an opinion about Obama in any way through the Primaries (that I can recall) nor have I spoken about who I felt he should pick for VEEP (that I can recall) but I now believe Obama NEEDS someone to PUNCH out some head lights!

These past two days have made me see ALL OVER AGAIN how "down and dirty" the Repukes really are and how they so EASILY throw crap around just to fuzz up the issues, and it seems that it ALWAYS works!! IMO Obama responded correctly to the Spears/Hilton ad, BUT NOW all MSM is talking about is how Obama is playing the "race-card!"

I absolutely HATE this stuff, wish people were ADULT enough or INTELLIGENT enough to see through the crap, but even Rachel Maddow is saying Obama needs to hit back and make McCain out to be the jack-ass he is. I feel that Joe Biden has the "muscle" to do the job!

I see Swift-Boat all over this again!! JMHO!!!

9. Having Been A Very Very Serious John Edwards Supporter, Biden Was
my second choice. There were times during the debates when I felt Biden was always right up there. Many here felt so too and gave him lots of credit. One thing for sure, he won't sit idly by and the time has long since past for the Democrats to go on OFFENSE!!

There have been a few Democrats who stood up and shouted, but very few.

6. I think Biden could do it very effectively
He has the advantage of having known and worked with McCain for many years. As such, I think his "attacks" would have more credibility. Meanwhile, Obama could put the emphasis on more positive aspects of the campaign.

8. that is one thing about Biden over other attack types even - he knows the Senate
record for McCain, can say "my old friend John", and can really talk about the context of McCain's votes.

Obviously I wanted Joe for Pres, haven't been sure about him for VP, but the way things are going, I'm leaning more toward VP for him.

38. I See THREE Threads Right Now Promoting Biden's Attack Dog Capabilities!
So, what's the problem if he will be McShame"s age after 8 years? If he's about to show others that Democrats might just be alive enough to show others a willingness to FIGHT, Democrats have a chance to rise above the "image" that Democrats haven't shown a lot of spine!

For me it's Biden and perhaps JRE who can do to some "inside work" and expose more than we know! For me Biden could throw McSHame a little "fear!" I do I know it's speculation, but I like it.

STILL one guy who will "call the kettle black!" I recall the long ago plagiarism issue, but by God he's redeemed himself. If one were to compare crimes now with plagiarism, I'll take the latter and laugh out loud!

I also agree that his Foreign Intelligence knowledge is an absolute PLUS! Even McShame would be a BIGGER fool to argue that!

I think Joe has gotten over his "foot in mouth" disease, and he's quite effective when he speaks. He's one of the best there is on foreign affairs, and he's really a likeable guy who connects with all kinds of people. A few years ago I didn't care much for him, but he's grown on me a lot.

said he didn't want the VP slot. I have seen many here talking AG for him, and I can only wish that if it were so he would go after these crooks with everything possible!!

But Biden is no fool and even though he has made some gaffes at times, I say who hasn't?? Biden has been around long enough and I'm sure has MANY tales to tell! One thing WILL come up though, MSM will say TWO SENATORS will never win! But Biden will fight back and hit hard!

You would think Biden's tough-as-nails approach might help amongst white working class voters, but it hurts amongst swing voters, moderates, and undecideds.

33. No, I Disagree... Economic Concerns Are Primary Now & Perhaps, Just
perhaps they might be drawn to a person who is willing to stand up and go for broke! Biden doesn't need them, they need him. Many may be sitting on the fence, unhappy and concerned because it just might beginning to affect them in some way. Fighting back with a big punch from Biden will make the McShame camp have to work on TWO fronts. Sort of the enemy you know, but also the enemy you don't know. Eeeny, Meeny, Minee, Mo!

So the voters are going to be looking at who can throw the best punch, and the McShame camp has "gone negative" very early. With Biden on the scene he could be the one who takes them on, letting Obama keep his focus on ISSUES. I may be dreaming, but that's how I see it. Democrats are going to have to throw some heavy shots, as underhanded as it is, just to show swing voters, moderates, and undecideds that they have the "gut" to hit back.

34. I have to admit to thinking more and more about Biden for the role.
Obama's job in picking the VP is not to hit a home run. It's to not foul out, strike out, fly out, or be beaten to first on a grounder. His job is to play it SAFE and get on base however possible.

Biden is the safe play. For those ten percent in the middle voters, who vote on the most superficial of reasons, he LOOKS the part. That's all that matters to them. Does he look like he could become president if he had to?

That's where I feel Kaine and Bayh come up short. They don't look it.

37. Plus... Even If Many Don't Really Know Him (Biden) I Feel It Wouldn't Take Long...
I think Biden has been sickened all along by what he's seen, but has not been able to get any action given these past eight years.

Do I think Democrats have been out to lunch for a long time? Damn right I do, but I have a feeling that if Biden was given a chance, he would be able to handle himself well one-on-one and more. From what I've seen of him lately, he's no shrinking violet.

Just a hunch.

39. I thought Biden was terrific in the early debates
and his one word answer to the question about his occasional long-windedness was perhaps the best line of the debates, period.

He's tough, smart and can attack hard without seeming mean-spirited because he can laugh at himself. He would be a formidable addition to the Obama ticket, though I could just as easily see him as Secretary of State given his tremendous depth of foreign policy experience and knowledge.

...the soundbyte zinger.
Unfortunately, that is what wins elections in Amerika.

I'm not comfortable with Joe's ties to the Banking Corps, but he would be GREAT in the campaign as VP. He is perfect for what passes as our Information Media today.

MORE people will remember Biden's zinger put downs of McCain than any of Obama's policy positions.

How many One Liners do you remember from the debates?

46. Ya know the most dangerous place to stand in Washington D.C.?
The spot in between Joe Biden and a television camera.

Biden has many of the qualities that would make him a great VP pick, but his achilles heel is his inability to shut up on certain occasions and stay on message.

I would counsel Obama to find a VP that is not so enamored with being on TV and one that will stay on message.
