Kerry Kicks Kyle's A$$

by Silence is Complicity
Thu Jul 31, 2008 at 03:19:24 PM PDT

I'm watching MSGOP and I've watched Kerry call McBush's camapaign UNTRUTHFUL. He's pointed out that that Britney Spears and Paris Hilton have nothing to do with healthcare or with oil prices.

He got Kyle to agree.

I'm filling in as I can but I wanted to get this out there!

(I'm sorry I'm not a fast transcriptionist so I'll type as I can.)

John Kerry said that McCain admitted that the surge was not successful.

Each time Kyle tried to lie, Kerry has the facts.

The other thing spoken about was the oil and drilling. He's not listing all the matters McBush's judgement is wrong.

Great comments at the link. I hope there is video of this.

It was wonderful to see. I think Kerry fights hardest when he is defending his friends.

3. Can everyone agree to use the correct terminology
They are not untruths.

They are not untruthful statements.

They are not misstatements.

They are lies.

Call them lies.

Call McCain and his surrogates liars.

Can we all please stop dancing around this?

4. saw it live.....very sweet to see Kerry so animated
really nailed him on the britney ad, and Kyl could NOT defend the use of the commercial, instead going through a litany of campaign policy talking points, while ignoring his initial defense of using those two stars in the first place

hahahahahhahaaaaaaaa

And that is gonna be some seriously juicy teevee to see, I betcha.

JK can't friggin *stand* Joe Lieberman.

And if he's in the feisty mood then that he was in when he smacked Kyl down tonight, it'll be a real bell-ringer, I tell you what!

30. That was unbelievably AWESOME. This needs to go viral.
I mean it is a total smackdown of the Britney Spears ad. That a GOPer ADMITS it's about nothing; it has NOTHING to do with what is affecting Americans.

I think John Kerry is a little pissed off about all of this. Like, oh, gee John (McCain) -- how can you be so shameless, steeping to Bush lows.

Aside from Clark and Cleland, the other dems were basically absent (or worst agreeing with the GOP memes).

17. *Exactly*.
The candidate is out making stump speeches and campaigning; it's up to his surrogates to have his back on TV talking head shows and in the press. I seem to remember not a few key Dems who made cracks about Kerry - *publicly* - during the campaign, or who offered a lukewarm "well he's better than Bush certainly, BUT he certainly not inspiring..." style "endorsement," or who actively thought the war was not a bad idea (*cough cough, a certain former president, cough cough*).

Kerry had a couple of loyal attack dog surrogates and whole bunch of finger-in-the-wind backstabbers. Fortunately for Obama, overt Democratic sabotage has had a very negligible effect on his post-primary campaign.

18. You said it, Mass.
Sen. Kerry and Sen. Obama both learned from 2004. Question is, did the rest of the Dems? There are some good surrogates (Claire McCaskill is one of the best), but we need more of them to start hitting McCain on his nasty smears and lies.

Maybe if Reid would stop kissing Pickens' sorry ass, he could lend a hand.

25. You nailed it
Who failed Kerry?

McAuliffe, who did not give two wet farts about securing the vote or coordinating any kind of protection against election fraud - which, after the fiasco of 2000, is UNFORGIVABLE.

James Carville, who tipped off his wife, who just happens to be Dick Cheney's bosom buddy, the NIGHT OF THE ELECTION that Kerry was planning to contest the Ohio results. Cheney called in the cavalry (Blackwell) and that was all she wrote.

Not to mention "liberal" pundits like Begala et al, who could only go on and on about what a lackluster candidate Kerry was on every talking head show.

What do these people have in common?

They wasted NO time in declaring themselves eager partisans for Hillary 08, long before Hillary formally announced she planned to run. And by long before, I mean immediately after they'd ensured that Kerry lost the 2004 election - I remember hearing Carville salivate over a Hillary 08 run in DECEMBER 2004.

THAT is the overwhelming #1 reason I could not and did not support Clinton in the primary. How many people had to die - how many lives ruined - all so Hillary and the Clinton machine who run the party could have another moment in the sun? They deprived the country of what could have been one of its best presidents of all time, and that I can never forget nor forgive.

27. He WAS fighting - what were the best known Dems doing back then? Oh yeah - siding WITH Bush
and defending him on TV - especially the last Dem president who spent his entire 2004 book tour not only supporting Bush's decisions on terrorism and Iraq war, but defendiong those decisions from the 'criticisms of the left' while Kerry was the lead critic at the time.

Do you even GET what you are actually complaining about? That Kerry didn't HAVE a Kerry. The nominee can't show up on every program - he has to have a seasoned, competent front line.

He tried to make him sound like General Eisenhower. It's like whack-a-mole. You squash one lie or misleading ststement with these pubs and a they crop up with six more as a last word, that they know won't get rebutted, because the time's up.

over the other (stupid Britney Spears ad), I'd kill that latter one DEAD every chance I got.

Not overly-faulting Kerry, but the latter myth (the military leadership and valor of John McCain, "troop commander") is more lethal and enduring. Ininformed voters believe that Crap! We have past as prologue.

Someone needs the courage to confront head on what McCain is and ISN"T, or we could have a slim but real chance to see a reincarnation of (albeit awol) Bush in a cod-piece. The facts about Bush just didn't matter, once the myths and image perceptions became entrenched.

McCain was a bigtime fuckup who got others killed needlessly before he was captured.
