Study: 90% of Obama's ads don't mention McCain
A new study Wednesday by the University of Wisconsin found that one-third of McCain's campaign advertising in the last two months was negative, while noting that Obama's ads never bothered to mention his opponent nine times in 10.
...
"What the McCain campaign needs to do is convince the electorate that Barack Obama is not a credible commander-in-chief, and to do that they need to run negative ads," said Goldstein.

Obama commented recently on strategies:

"Bush or McCain don't have a real answer for the challenges that you face. So what they're going to try to do is make you scared of me. He's not patriotic enough, he's got a funny name, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on dollar bills," Obama said.

"That's basically the argument: we don't have much to offer, but he's risky."

2. i don't see anything there that say what the content of a new ad is
strategically I think the Obama campaign needs to get all the talking head time they can. Though the Hilton spears ad is a mistake, the one thing McCain's new campaign managers got right is: "if you are fishing for free airtime on 24/7 infotainment news channels, bait your hook with Paris Hilton."

Brittany Spears probably has a better grasp of the economic problems facing this country than McCain does.

3. Why not show ads of Oil Spills and destroyed environment in an Obama ad and link it to McCain,.
I think you need to shock the people into realizing why offshore is bad and he needs to get back onto the important meme of Bush 3rd term...i feel the repubs have now shifted the focus on Obama rather than themselves.

5. many under informed people believe it is a 'necessary evil'
they are paying $4.60 for gas and want relief. Many buy into the lies that:
- there is a problem with supply
- the US could be energy independent if we drill everywhere
Neither of those is true.

Barack's position includes this statement:
"If offshore drilling would provide short-term relief at the pump or a long-term strategy for energy independence, it would be worthy of our consideration, regardless of the risks. But most experts, even within the Bush Administration, concede it would do neither. It would merely prolong the failed energy policies we have seen from Washington for thirty years,” Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton
