McCain Camp: Obama Playing The Race Card

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — John McCain's campaign accused Barack Obama on Thursday of playing racial politics a day after the Democratic candidate predicted Republicans would try to scare voters by pointing out "he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

Obama "played the race card, and he played it from the bottom of the deck," McCain campaign manager Rick Davis said in a statement. He called Obama's remarks "divisive, negative, shameful and wrong."

While Obama was meeting with victims of this summer's flooding here, his aides were initially dismissive of the McCain broadside. "We're not in the habit of reacting every time they put out a statement," spokesman Robert Gibbs said.

The first black candidate with a shot at winning the White House, Obama argued while stumping in Missouri on Wednesday that President Bush and McCain will resort to scare tactics to maintain their hold on the White House because they have little else to offer voters.

"Nobody thinks that Bush and McCain have a real answer to the challenges we face. So what they're going to try to do is make you scared of me," Obama said. "You know, `he's not patriotic enough, he's got a funny name,' you know, `he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.'"

1. Davis knows damn right well that Obama basically predicted their strategy
for the next four months. Turn Obama into SCAREY BLACK MAN OMG, make McCain seem more grandfatherly in comparison.

2. McCain is such a desperate asswipe
he knows he can only win if he scares folk and lies his way into the white house. Oh how I wish someone put out an attack ad on him and all of his dirt.

4. McGaffey's Campaign
Is just upset that Obama got in front of there strategy and called them on it. They know making him "scary black man" is the tactic they will run with. They have nothing else. They have nothing to offer the american people so they are trying to tear down Obama. After the past 8 years my hope is that people are sick of that same crap. We can't economically survive another 4 to 8 years of McSame.

5. McCains supporters
McCains supporters are guilty of spreading some of the most vicious, distorted rumors by email. I don't believe they originated directly from McCain's campaign staff but from some fringe ultra-right wing groups.

7. God. So McCain's campaign really is trying to run the same campaign Hillary ran.
They are so stupid and desperate.

Yeah, go down this road McCan't. You'll end up ruined in the process.
