Breaking News!Obama leads In Florida,Ohio and Pennsylvania
Florida and Ohio are now too close to call. No one has been elected President since 1960 without taking two of these three largest swing states in the Electoral College. Results from the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University polls show:

Florida: Obama has 46 percent to McCain's 44 percent, compared to a 47 - 43 percent Obama lead June 18;

Ohio: Obama has 46 percent to McCain's 44 percent, compared to a 48 - 42 percent Obama lead least time;

Pennsylvania: Obama leads McCain 49 - 42 percent, compared to 52 - 40 percent.

1. Wonder how they'll spin it
Will the headline be "Obama leads in 3 battleground states" or "Obama loses ground"? Somehow I am betting on the latter. And I have to admit, Ohio is too close for comfort. That he is still leading in Florida is somewhat encouraging though.

2. These polls sometimes scare me. All the more time for the
repub machine to figure out how to go about mickey-mousing with the ballots.

I know it is imperative that we know how things stand, I am glad for the poll results but I so distrust politics that I fear any good news for any Democrat.

See how far we have come?

3. What has McCain done to close the gap?
In each case Obama has lost ground. I don't trust the polling. I think it is being set up for another election theft.

There is no way that Obama doesn't have 50% across the country right now. How can Bush* have a 28% approval rating and McCain be acceptable to 44% of the electorate?

This stinks!

4. Well it looks like most of these are compared to June polls, which is when he got the nominee bounce
I wouldn't think too much into it. The bottom line is he's still leading in a time when many average Americans don't know much about him other than that he's popular and has a funny name. His numbers have nowhere to go but up.

7. This poll has a 2.8% margin of error. What does that really mean?
From: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2004_08/004536.php

So according to this, with even a 2% lead it would mean that it is 75% likely that Obama is actually ahead. This is certainly different than viewing it as a tossup.
