whats so bad about feeling good?

woke up today
always a great way to start a day
i felt good about it
awesome morning followed by a rain in the afternoon that cut the heat down
i felt good about that
went to work
felt good about it
boss talked me out of semi retirement to work the char broiler
doubled my pay
feel real good about that
made great food all night
always makes me feel great
confirmed my reservations in vegas where i will be celebrating my 30th
hear me
30th anniversary (and some of you think im insufferable?)
feel good about that
made a plan to go to the grand canyon sky walk to secretly exchange rings with my wife
(they have a no carrying stuff onto the walkway policy)
feel good about that

pretty good day so far
then i come here and gather news
always feel good about that
no ones panties seem twisted today here at DU
always a good thing

we spend a lot of effort here it seems all working together at different ways to get to the same place
sometimes i think we all
myself included
have a hard time feeling good
we spend too much time being upset about rumors
rumors are just bullshit
responding to them is frosting on bullshit

maybe we can all try this
think back to your best day
for 30 seconds
let the memory wrap you
you will feel better
maybe even gooder

as for myself
i will think back to a hot summer day in 1977 when i went to my friend Terry's (god rest his soul)to play cards
and met the coolest chick on earth instead

its not hard to feel good
and it feels.....
