I've only seen Biden's brilliant op-Ed. But where the hell are the Democrats? Why aren't they collectively demanding that McSame apologize for his despicable remarks, exploitation of the troops? Obama cannot do it all by himself. Where are they??!?!

McCranky's remarks were insulting. But I agree, they should be swarming the m$m in defense of Obama.

4. It worries me that there is this palatable silence because the Repukes get away
with so much. Democrats need to unite for this collective cause. We lose because we don't fight for one another.

5. Must. Bring out. The. Gunnnnnnnz.
I realize the gloves will undoubtedly come off after the convention but the mclame sleaze machine has been in overdrive the sec Obama's plane took off on ME/European tour.

The airwaves are saturated with mclame's anti-Obama smear excrement and I feel it needs to be smacked down far more aggressively than it has.

The snowflake turning into an avalanche syndrome is what's coming to mind.

Then again, I'm sure the O camp could care less what I think.

.........sigh.

It's deja vu all over again. I remember starting threads about the Dems not standing up to the swiftboaters in 2004, and being told by other DUers that the Kerry campaign was "playing chess" by not responding. I was just too stupid to understand their very sophisticated methods. But I was a very active grassroots volunteer and I knew in my bones that the swiftboaters were hurting Kerry. If we allow this to happen again, we will deserve to lose.

Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 09:36 AM by bluerum
Well I have donated - to Obama's campaign.

I told her that and she started in about the other democrats running.

Well, I would just as well see Pelosi lose her seat to a dem challenger. And I would like to see the rest of them support Obama by condemning McSame as you say.

But alas, they are silent and so is my checking account.

edit - spelling. duh.

12. Perhaps it is time for us to start a campaign to ask
our reps "What have you done for our candidate lately?" I'll be contacting Boswell, Harkin, and other Dems in our state tomorrow. Let's get on it and not sit around wringing our hands and tut-tutting. Start lighting a fire under their lazy, self-serving asses. If they couldn't do the right thing during the * debacles, then they least thing they can do would be to not set us up for failure in the years to come.

27. More important . . . where is Hillary Clinton?
Since the Clinton campaign introduced a lot of the memes, e.g., elitism, not ready from day 1, just an empty suit, etc., against Obama that are being regurgitated by Republicans and their media pals, it would be a powerful sign of unity if Hillary came out now and publicly said the Barack is much more qualified on all fronts than McCain. Her silence, more than that any of the other Democrats, implies agreement with the GOP talking points.

They bent over and took it in 1998.

They bent over and took it in 2000 and 2004. They took impeachment off the table for the most criminal presidency in U.S. history.

The reich wing grows more hateful by the day, but Nancy et al remain silent. Disgusting. Somebody has to stand up for us, and for our nominee. Somebody. Please.

They have felt the lash of the GOP for too long and not only don't fight back, but on occasion turn on their fellows if they should. Not much juice in the "Democrat" party and hasn't been for many years, now.

Democrats stay silent and hope they don't get embroiled in the controversy--it might hurt their individual electoral chances. Yes, Democrats are fucking yellow-bellied cowards, that's what I'm saying.

33. what's with all the apology crap?
When someone opens their big mouth without thinking first and using some common sense what the hell good does an apology do?

Oh Gee I voted for the attack on Iraq but I'm so sorry , what the hell good does this do after the fact?

The husband beats his wife , Oh I'm so sorry , does nothing after the fact.

If people and I don't care who they are cannot control themselves how the hell does anyone expect to find any sort of real change.

37. My sentiment is once words are said
How does an apology take it away . So anyone can blurt out anything and say I'm so sorry and it's all fine now?

Why don't the Dems stand by the people of the US? If they can't do that then what do you expect?

I had enough trouble trying to understand how the dems could bash the hell out of Hillary but they did it. And they are all supposed to be from the same party.

There is a lot the dems have done I don't understand and there is a lot they have not done that I don't understand.

I get the feeling if you pulled their masks back you would find mechanical devices and wires.

on Obama. If I remember correctly, Kaine has been on TV also last week, as have probably been others.

This said, you are aiming a real problem. Dems generally speaking do not like to defend other Dems.

Come on, they could not even ask the Republicans to desist on the SBVT attacks (with a few exceptions like Lautenberg and Clark and Cleland). Do you expect them to go after a respected Republican senators of whom they speak half of the time as their best friend and a respectable colleagues. Of course not! :sarcasm:
