Why Would ANY WOMEN Support George W. Bush?
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 11:48 PM by The Nation

^ UGH!

I mean honestly, what has W done for women that's so great? He's restricting their reproductive rights, doing NOTHING to promote their equality in the workplace or in the world, and seems to enjoy a stepford wife as opposed to one who speaks her mind.

I don't get it.

2. Because their husbands tell them to
many women who support bush do so because their husbands tell them to. and a smaller percentage of his female supporters are those who do so for reasons having to do with personal political beliefs.

most of them are idiots like laura bush.

21. that's horrible
I will never vote a certain way because my husband/SO wants me to. Sadly, I too know many women who now vote straight R because their husband does...

34. Dunno - Her Mom is On SSDI
evrything the bulk of her life was is non-conservative. I mean everything. Voting for this miserable fuck is a vote against her mom's needs. I know this woman cares deeply about the enviornment. I would hope after 4 years of this nightmare, she has opened her eyes. She is very secretive, so on the other hand, she might vote dem and tell hubby she voted for *.

like this in America. This works both for and against us, but mostly against.

3. Why would
ANYONE support Bush?

Hey it's one of those things that boggles all of us.

Usually the reasons are tax cuts, religions fundamentalism (the gays, the gays!!!, the baby killers!!!), or just plain stupidity (Bush is a good religious man with good values)...

9. Culture
The consider themselves "Right Women". They'll vote for any damn thing that hurts women as long as they preserve their sense of right-wing "independence".

Conservatives really do think of themselves as being on the side of Liberty ... it's just that Liberty requires a few nips and tucks. After all, there is such a thing as Too Much Freedom, and only Conservatives know where to apply the "corrections".

12. Well...Bush is a simple man who means what he says...like...
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
—George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004

"Tribal sovereignty means that; it's sovereign. I mean, you're a, you've been given sovereignty, and you're viewed as a sovereign entity. And therefore the relationship between the federal government and tribes is one between sovereign entities."
—George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Aug. 6, 2004

22. Because they love Jesus and watch Fox news...
Having just completed a buttload of canvassing in Oregon--which involved speaking to quite a few female Bush supporters--I'd say the main reasons are as follows:

1) They're religious
2) They think that Bush is making them safer
3) They're voting for Bush because they like him better for some vague and inexplicable reason than Kerry

Or some combination of the above

green
Thats all its about, simple as that, I asked around in 2000, hey why you supporting Bush over Gore, oh tax cuts, these ignorant assholes would rather get a temporary 100 dollars that they could spend on like maybe dinner, a movie, etc than have a government that truly cares about them, that gives our country honor and respect in the world. Its sickening. Women are just as greedy as men.

With Clinton and others before him, they didn't get that. Bush* 43, on the other hand, came at the right time for them.

33. Two I know first hand: Fear for family and being pro-life
I know two perfectly sane people who feel the world is safer with bush, and they like bush because he is pro-life and they think that is the most important issue.

Now, the dems need to hammer home the problem with the safety claim, that bush makes people around the world hate us, so how could that make us safer, if more people hate us??? Re: pro-life, my question for those people is: what has he done for you lately??? He's all talk on pro-life, no action.
