(CNN) — Support for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama extend to death row Wednesday.

According to The Jackson Clarion Ledger, a Mississippi newspaper, death row inmate Dale Leo Bishop's final words before being executed Wednesday night included an appeal to Americans to vote for the Illinois senator.

"For those who oppose the death penalty and want to see it end, our best bet is to vote for Barack Obama because his supporters have been working behind the scenes to end this practice," Bishop said, according to the paper.

While I agree that a system should be implemented to ensure the guiltiness of those who are put up for the death penalty, I refuse to tell the relatives of a slain family member that their desire for justice is 'too harsh'.

I call bullshit. I have heard many parents of murdered children say things like "death is an easy out; he needs to live forever in prison" and "his death won't bring my child back".

If it were up to the parents, the man would be tortured for days on end until he finally dies. If it were my kid I would want the same thing. That's why we have an impartial justice system. To protect ourselves from ourselves.

Do the people who advocate for the death penalty ever think beyond their need for revenge? Tell it to the parents of ______________!!!! Kill the killer. Who gives a rats ass if the DNA later proves the guy who was fried in "Old Sparky" was innocent - it's okay to murder in the name of revenge.

Please - the need to "get even" is waaaay over done and it is mindlessness at its worst.
