On Hardball, they are simultaneously bashing Obama for being 'too showy' and 'not showy enough'
Edited on Thu Jul-24-08 05:03 PM by Kristi1696
That his speech was both too bland (no take-away show-stopping lines) and not bland enough (how presumptuous that people already look to him as a world leader, and he ALLOWS it).

Oh yeah, and they're also really angry at him that so many Germans decided to show up...but really, really inspired that so many Germans decided to show up and show their support for the U.S.

:wtf:

They have completely lost any grip with reality. Good God, they suck. Utterly incompetent.

Okay, now onto "Obama isn't ahead by enough in the polls...OH NOES!". At least that shit is predictable.

Edited: grammar, clarity

1. must be filling time - "Obama gave a speech to more than 200,000 cheering Berliners" says it all
Edited on Thu Jul-24-08 04:59 PM by JoeIsOneOfUs

5. Just think.. if McCain was there and 50 people showed up, they'd hail it a
success; a turning point; the place where he made his mark and just "became" the President.. They wouldn't have enough praise over his testosterone or his image or whatever they love to gush over.

8. WTF: Bob Herbert (Wash Po) said on Hardball that he didn't
trust the poll numbers (national poll) and thought McCain's numbers should be higher and Obama's lower.

He didn't have time to elaborate cause the show was ending.

Matthews cut him off and changed the subject.

Despicable.

31. Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC
called Obama "an outsider" right after the speech.
How exactly is a born American, with a Harvard law degree and a US Senator an "outsider"?
There is only one possible explanation and it's pretty damned ugly.
She is disgusting.

18. Well, all this criticism is really Obama's fault:
he hasn't made the gaffes the media expected, so they didn't get fed the lines they thought they could use to bash him. So he in effect FORCED them to make up such silly reasons to criticize him.

Give the media a break: if they didn't do stuff like this to Obama, they might have to do something really crazy -- like discuss McCain's numerous and continuing gaffes.

23. Where would we be without Gene Robinson and Rachel Maddow?
Edited on Thu Jul-24-08 05:53 PM by Kristi1696
Oh, on RTWH, now they're showing McCain criticizing Obama's speech on "foreign land".

And giving him a total pass on Canada and Colombia...

Oh wait, then Rachel brings up the hypocrisy...

But David Gregory interjects about Lance Armstrong is giving McCain "starpower" tonight. Oh, how exciting...

Gregory tries to get Robinson to talk about McCain's focusing on domestic policy while Obama is abroad...

But Robinson counters and points out that McCain hasn't been talking about domestic policy, just doing photo-ops in dairy sections and and a "Fudge Haus". Even brings up the oil spill that forced the cancelation of McCain's pressor.

Gregory: We've got to take a break...

That's your media, folks!
