Don't let it get you down.

I agree that it's going to be historic and extremely damaging to McCain's photo-op tomorrow. It'll be impossible for the media to ignore.

I'm sure that the campaign was reluctant to use the Brandenburg Gate, given its presidential associations. The Siegesäule, in recent years, has been associate with the Love Parade, associated with techno and decadence. Besides, since the "Victory Column" was erected, Germany was always defeated.

I wish he would have gone to Cologne to speak before the Dom, which is the most iconic symbol of Germany for Germans. The religious meaning, along with the city's associations to the European Movement, would have been a powerful message of future cooperation.
