What does this asshead's status as POW have to do with his resignation? Don't you think that's putting a little (cough) twist on the story? Kind of like taking a detail of a story and making it seem more, I don't know, relevant and even, uh, the central focus of the article?
Former POW Resigns From Bush Campaign
WASHINGTON - A former POW resigned as a volunteer to President Bush's re-election campaign Saturday after it was learned that he
appeared in an anti-John Kerry ad sponsored by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.
(not part of the group - he actually APPEARED in the ad!!!)
"Col. Cordier did not inform the campaign of his involvement in the advertisement," the Bush campaign said in a statement. "Because of his involvement (with the group) Col. Cordier will no longer participate as a volunteer for Bush-Cheney '04."
Cordier spent six years in a North Vietnamese prisoner of war camp.
The White House and the Bush campaign have denied any direct connection with Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, which is funded in part by a
top GOP donor in Texas.
(Gee, is there any other, you know, relevant details about this top donor and, say, his long-standing relationship with George W. Bush?)
How about this?
"Republican donor Bob Perry has given $200,000 to the group running the ads, The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, and had
worked with Rove as early as 1986 in connection with a Texas gubernatorial campaign."
