McCain predicts 'spectacular' terror attempts in Iraq
ok, yesterday the ultimate warrior claimed that we've "succeeded" in iraq, and today? mr. magic 8-ball says this...

i'm so confused

~snip~

John McCain said Friday he expects the presidential election this fall will increase the occurrence of "spectacular" terror attempts in Iraq.

Speaking at a General Motors facility in Warren, Michigan, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate touted the decrease of violence in Iraq, but said Al Qaeda is not yet defeated there.

"I predict that they will make an attempt as we get in to the election season to make more of these spectacular kinds of attacks which they're still capable of doing," he said. "The suicide bombers, et cetera, would not surprise me and we've already found out that they're going to try and step up their attacks and try and do things in a more spectacular fashion so that they can erode the support of the Maliki government."

The comments come a day after the Arizona senator appeared to make a rhetorical shift in how he described conditions the war-torn country, telling reporters aboard his campaign bus that "we have succeeded in Iraq."

"I repeat my statement that we have succeeded in Iraq. Not 'We are succeeding.' We have succeeded in Iraq," he said Thursday.

that prior to the invasion Al Queda were not in Iraq which makes the USA the root cause of the problem.

7. No Need To Pray - Blackwater Will Make It Look Like Terrorists....
It'll look good for him if he predicts this and it happens. Blackwater will make it happen. McCain will keep up his illusion that he knows how to fight wars.

8. Whoa! Wait a minute!
Didn't he say we already "succeeded" in Iraq? I mean, he said that multiple times so he must have REALLY meant it, right?

10. Bush, McCain et. al can't have it BOTH ways!
Either Iraq is ready for us to start withdrawing troops or it isn't. If it is, then there really shouldn't be much of debate about whether or not to do it but rather how soon and how fast. McCain has already said that he doesn't care if we're over there for the next 100 years or more and isn't offering any "timetable" other than (maybe) at the start of what would be his second term as President (if god forbid he gets a first one). However, Bush, McCain for the longest time really haven't wanted to have THIS debate in regards to Iraq but have all along continued insisting against "cutting and running" (whatever THAT means) or giving any indication that we might start withdrawing a major number of troops. Like Obama stated, theirs has been more of a plan for how to STAY in Iraq NOT how to leave.
Now, OTOH If Iraq is NOT ready (enough) for us to withdraw most of our troops after 5+ years and Bush's 2007 "surge", then Bush, McCain et. al need to justify our continued occupation beyond the slogans and catchphrases and clearly explain why what they have been doing hasn't worked and what "success" they're hoping for us to achieve by having us stay even longer than we already have. They can't tell us that we've "succeeded" in Iraq but, in the same breath, tell us we can't leave yet and not explain to the rest of us why (which they've gotten a free pass on for too long)!
