4. T. Boone has vast holdings in Natural Gas.
The US generates 50% of it's electricity by burning coal, another large chunk comes from natural gas.

He's advocating wind and solar to generate electricity, thus theoretically freeing up more natural gas to run our vehicles instead of oil.

The internal combustion engine easily converts to run on natural gas, and these are very low emission vehicles.

That is my understanding of the matter, without using the Google.

10. Natural gas is extremely expensive here in North America,
because there really isn't that much of it and the demand is enormous. I assume that T. Boone has a lot of natural gas leases in his portfolio.

If we import it, guess who has it? Russia, Iran and Qatar.

Next great idea.

22. He is also developing large farms and wants government subsidies.
Typical Republican.

His "Free-Market Enterprise" is run by taxpayer funded subsidies.

5. And, he has not been a friend of Progressives and Democrats.
Which, in and of itself, doesn't mean his energy ideas are bad.

from Wikipedia:

Since 1980, Pickens has made over $5 million in political donations.<7> He was a financial supporter of President George W. Bush and contributed heavily to both his Texas and national political campaigns. In 2004, Pickens contributed to 527 Republican groups, including a $3 million contribution to the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth attacking Bush's rival, John Kerry, and $2.5 million to the Progress for America advocacy group. In 2005, Pickens was among 53 entities that contributed the maximum of $250,000 to the second inauguration of President George W. Bush.<13>

6. I saw one this morning?
It was about wind farms.....I don't like T-Boone and I live in Tx. He is a piece of doggie poop. Anything he supports is because it's only going to benefit him.

18. Then what is the difference between Al Gore and T-Boone?
Your personal feeling aside, both are both advocating greener technology that they are investing in and will profit from.

their sports teams. He wants to be the John D. Rockefeller of the alternative fuel industry.

8. It's greenwashing with the intent of making Boone rich on natural gas deployment
If you look at the pie chart for what his plan are, it's 95% natural gas with some toppings of wind and solar power technology.

13. Take the question to our Environment/Energy forum...
You'll get more information than you'd get from the secretary of energy, and probably more valid.

I promise.

11. When you think of Boone, think of Daniel Plainview
...without the booze.

He will promise the moon and the stars but in the end, he'll drink your milkshake.

16. he's not completely evil
during the Katrina disaster, he and his wife chartered planes to get abandoned pets out of the area. They also contributed to human relief efforts.

24. YOU stop with the patronizing BS
helping pets rather than helping people during Katrina should make
me happy I suppose, how convenient of you to consider that as an
effort to help take us through this energy fight.

T Boone cares about himself and so far I have not seen any proof
to change my perception.
