Poll question: Today do you think a Clinton VP is more or less likely?
Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 09:29 PM by Political Heretic
I think that a Clinton VP is becoming more likely that I previously thought, although I still think there are some other good choices as well.

What do you think - as it stands now... more likely or less likely?

1. I'm very disappointed he isn't polling better. I think he's going to need her
12,000,000 votes and then some.

12. I love this "she's got x million votes" BS.
It's as if she keeps them in a huge barrel and she'll just dump them into the ballot box or something in Nov.

Those votes were cast and counted. They are now water under the bridge.

She may have garnered so many million votes in the primaries, but as of now, she's got ZERO votes in the GE.

Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 09:38 PM by liberalmuse
My next thought, after thinking this country is fucked because its citizens are beyond brain dead, was Obama might consider Hillary as VP to round out the ticket and pull some voters in. I do think the recent tie is a result of people pissed off at his FISA vote. God, I hope so, anyway.

On edit: for those who think she can't pull in more voters or money, you'd be surprised. Talk to some of the people (or "women") who voted for Bush twice. They will not vote for Obama, and would as soon as have McCain, but they will vote for Hillary.

If you're going to look at polls (and you shouldn't right now since we've had ZERO debates yet and most of the television ads are in the works) -- then you should only follow individual state polls.

And if you follow most state polls, you're freak'n if your the old dude.

How in the world could he pick Hillary and then watch the TV ads "every day" with her saying that she and McCain bring "years" of experience to the race, and all Obama has is a speech? Or that her and McCain have passe the "threshold" test to be commander and chief, but Obama hasn't? And what will happen when the republicans come up with all the names of questionable people and countries that donated to the Clinton library? Do you think Bill will give Obama those names during the vetting process?

I could go on, but I see no way that picking Hillary is a win situation for Obama.

20. I wish they would stop with the polling...
I think he's doing great, but I worry when he pulls ahead too far. I'm afraid of what the republicans will do if they KNOW they are going to lose. I want the landslide to be a surprise....

33. 12 mil Primary votes are worthless since this is the GE. They're
not pledged votes like convention delegates. When the primaries ended, democrats rallied around the winner.

Except for a few nuts, anyway.

I must have spent too much time contemplating "satire".

What is the difference between "Obama Primary", "Clinton Primary", etc.

Please 'splain.

Yes, that's Ginny at christmas time, see here little santa hat?
She's an adoption, and fierce defender of all she surveys; keeping the castle safe from raccoons, birds, etc.

She may have been raised by cats. Yes, she has cat mannerisms...

17. I supported Obama in the primary and argued that he wouldn't
put her on the ballot. But the economy is too far gone and I think that putting her on the ballot will help restore confidence to the American people. The worse the economy gets, the more likely she will be on the ticket.

Whether or not the Clintons can or would do any more than anyone else to improve the economy is not what's important. The perception that things were better when Bill Clinton was president and that he would be "back in the White House" might be the psychological boost that this country needs right now.

He's doing better with moderate voters than he would be able to do with Clinton on the ticket.

29. More likely with every day that passes. The closer it gets to the convention,
the riskier it will be for Obama to diss Clinton and her supporters by choosing anyone else as VP.

He can either choose to unify the party, or he can brandish a narrow primary victory and try to pretend that approximately half the party, the half that would have rather had her as the nominee, doesn't exist. The choice is his. But we're all going to have to live with the results, and since I want to see our party united in November, taking back the White House after eight years of GOP misrule, I hope he'll have the sense to choose her as his running mate.

30. less likely
I think that the continued actions of her supporters to attack and undermine Obama have been construed, rightly or wrongly, as a failure by Bill and her to bring their troops into line. There's still a sense that her needs and wants remain the priority.

Lady Full of Shit de Rothchild and a few of Hillary's other big time supporters have not served her interests well. The natural conclusion is that Hillary has not delivered. She's given lukewarm support, and Bill is a no-show.

If Obama wins, the Hill and Bill Show is effectively over. I think they know that.
