The McCain Flip Flop Number is Now 70

1. Privatizing Social Security - McCain opposed privatizing Social Security but now he supports it.

2. Iraq Troop Withdrawal - McCain said if the Iraqi govt asked American troops to leave he would support that decision. Now McCain oppose that position.

3. Tax Cuts - McCain supported tax cuts for the wealthy after opposing them in 2001.

4. Judges - McCain flip flops on judges depending on the crowd. He tells conservatives he wants to clone Alito and Roberts. He tells independents and Democrats that he supports Breyer and Ginsburg.

5. Torture - McCain was against torture, now he's for torture.

6. Negotiating with Hamas - McCain said that it was okay to negotiate with Hamas in 2006. Now he opposes it.

7. Bush Third Term - McCain says he is not running for Bush's third term yet says that he agrees with George W Bush on all the transcendent issues of the day.

8. Agents Of Intolerance - McCain called Falwell and Robertson agents of intolerance. Now they are no longer such.

9. 527s - McCain opposes 527s being used in presidential campaigns, McCain now supports 527s being used in presidential campaigns.

10. Gramm's Whiner Comment - McCain supports Phil Gramm's Americans are whiners comment but later in the day disagrees with this comment.

11. Economic Expertise - McCain says he is not an expert on the economy. McCain now claims he is an expert.

12. Illegal Wiretapping - McCain said that Bush's wiretapping program was illegal. Now McCain says it is legal.

13. Habeas Corpus - McCain used to support habeas corpus for detainees at Gitmo and other places. Now McCain opposes habeas corpus for these same detainees.

14. Everglades Restoration - McCain supported restoring and saving the Everglades. McCain now opposes it.

15. Gay Couple Legal Contracts - McCain opposed legal contracts for gay couples. McCain said on the Ellen Degeneris show that he supports such contracts.

16. GI Bill - Mccain opposed the GI Bill but now claims he supported it.

17. Military Service Exploitation - McCain says he would never exploit his military service while running for office. McCain now exploits his military service while running for office.

18. Roe v. Wade - McCain opposed overturning Roe v. Wade. McCain now supports overturning Roe v. Wade.

19. States Rights On Abortion - McCain supports federal legislation banning abortion after saying that abortion should be left to the states.

20. ANWR - McCain opposes drilling in ANWR, now supports drilling in ANWR.

21. Offshore Drilling - McCain opposes drilling within 60 miles of American coastlines. McCain now supports drilling within 60 miles of American coastlines.

22. Role of States in Drilling - McCain believed that drilling offshore should be left to the states. Now McCain wants that decision made by the federal government.

23. MLK Holiday - McCain voted against a MLK holiday. Now he supports it.

24. Windfall Profits Tax - McCain supported the windfall profits tax, McCain opposes the windfall profits tax.

25. Filibuster of Judges - McCain supports filibustering judges. McCain opposes filibustering judges.

26. Confederate Flag - McCain calls flying the Confederate flag a symbol of heritage. McCain later denounces himself.

27. Civil Unions - McCain supports civil unions for gay and lesbian couples, then 30 seconds later McCain opposes civil unions for gay and lesbian couples.

28. Constitutional Ban On Gay Marriage - McCain opposed a constitutional ban on gay marriage, McCain now supports a constitutional ban on gay marriage.

29. Yucca Mountain - McCain says that people in Nevada who oppose nuclear waste being dumped in Yucca Mountain have a NIMBY problem. McCain opposes nuclear waste being dumped in his own town.

30. Undue Lobbyist Influence - McCain is against undue lobbyist influence. Now McCain's campaign is controlled almost entirely by lobbyists.

31. Abortion Exceptions - McCain supported exceptions for abortion in cases of rape, incest or to sae the life of the mother. Now he won't.

32. Defense Cuts - McCain opposed spending cuts for defense. Now McCain is willing to support them if corporate tax rates are reduced.

33. Waterboarding - Mccain said waterboarding is torture. McCain now says waterboarding is an extra measure and not necessarily torture.

34. Mandatory Caps - McCain used to support mandatory cap and trade policies on emissions. Now he opposes them.

35. Citizenship for Immigrants - McCain supported a bill with his own name on it allowing illegal immigrants a path to citizenship. Now McCain opposes his own bill.

36. Flying The Confederate Flag - McCain supports flying the Confederate flag at the South Carolina statehouse. McCain does not support flying the Confederate flag at the South Carolina statehouse.

37. Bush Tax Policies - McCain opposed Bush's tax policies that hurt the middle class. McCain now supports Bush's tax policies that hurt the middle class and is their biggest advocate.

38. South African Divestment - McCain opposed South African divestment. Now he supports it.

39. Alternative Minimum Tax - McCain supported phasing out the Alternative Minimum Tax. Now he opposes it.

40. Estate Tax Repeal - McCain opposed, as recently as 2006, plans to repeal the estate tax on estates valued in the millions. Now McCain wants to repeal the estate tax.

41. North Korea Negotiations - McCain opposed negotiating with the President of North Korea. After Bush negotiated with President Kim Jung Il, McCain supported it.

42. Iraq + Stay The Course - McCain supported Rumsfield policies of stay the course in Iraq. McCain now claims he never supported such policies.

43. Creationism - McCain opposed creationism being taught as Science in public schools. Now McCain supports them.

44. Time of Offshore Drilling - McCain said that offshore drilling would take years. Now he says it would help in the short term.

45. Campaign Finance Reform - McCain supported a grassroots campaign finance reform lobbying bill with Senator Russ Feingold. Now he opposes key provisions in it.

46. Immigration Act - McCain cosponsored a Development Relief and Education Aliens Minor Act for immigrants. Now he opposes it.

47. Fidel Castro - McCain supported negotiating with Fidel Castro in 2000 but opposes negotiating with Castro or Cuba in 2008.

48. Pakistan - McCain opposed unilateral action against terrorists in Pakistan when Obama supported it. Now McCain supports it.

49. Bush's Pioneers - McCain opposed Bush's Pioneer fundraisers as lawbreakers. Now he coopted them.

50. Occupying Muslim Lands - Against it when Clinton was President, now for it.

51. Russia + the G8 - McCain was against kicking Russia out of the G8 then was for it.

52. Law Of The Sea Treaty - McCain supported the Law of the Sea Treaty but now opposes it.

53. Ease of Iraq Conflict - McCain said the Iraq conflict would be easily won. Years later, McCain said that he knew all along that it would be difficult.

54. Withdrawal from Iraq - McCain opposed telling the Iraqis a timeline for withdrawal. McCain later gave the year 2013 as the timeline for withdrawal.

55. NRA Influence - McCain was against the NRA influencing the Republican Party platform but now he is for it.

56. Arizona earmarks - McCain supports earmarks in Arizona. McCain opposes earmarks in Arizona.

57. Ethanol - McCain was against ethanol before he was for ethanol.

58. Balanced budgets - McCain supported them, then opposed them.

59. Economic Times - McCain says Americans are worse off economically under Bush before claiming they were now better off economically on Bush.

60. Litmus Tests - McCain was for litmus tests and then against limit tests.

61. Hagee- McCain welcomed John Hagee's support but then didn't welcome John Hagee's support.

62. Wyly Brothers - In 2000 McCain accused the Wyly brothers of spending dirty money. In 2008, McCain sought their money.

63. Grover Norquist - McCain called Grover Norquist corrupt and a shill for dictators. Now McCain calls him a key political ally.

64. Syria - McCain supported diplomacy with Syria before opposing diplomacy with Syria.

65. Global Warming - McCain supported legislation to reduce global warming before opposing that same legislation.

66. Cigarette Taxes - McCain supported raising cigarette taxes, McCain opposed raising cigarette taxes.

67. Katrina Investigations - Was against them but claimed he was for them.

68. Surrogates - McCain says surrogates speak for presidential candidates, releases 16 press statements to said effect, and then says surrogates don't speak for the candidates after Gramm's nation of whiners comment.

69. Equal Pay For Women - He said in Wisconsin he was for it, then said he would have voted against the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.

70. Pittsburgh or GreenBay - McCain claimed that he gave the defensive line of the Packers to Viet Cong capturers but while campaigning in Pittsburgh, he flipped his stores to the Pittsburgh defensive line
