http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/07/13/america/campaign.phpWASHINGTON: Asserting that there is "little doubt we've moved into recession," Barack Obama says decisive government action is needed to right the U.S. economy.
At the same time, Obama said Saturday in an interview that removing American forces from Iraq, which he promises to do within 16 months of taking office, will not be "perfectly neat."
The Democratic presidential nominee took on the top two issues confronting voters as they decide whether he or the Republican, John McCain, will take charge of the United States after the November presidential election.
Obama has proposed government action to battle the deepening American economic slump, while McCain has been less sure-footed as he campaigned to convince voters that he understands their struggle with raging energy costs, home mortgage foreclosures and growing unemployment.
