The Denver Group: Maybe Outside CHANCE Hillary Rodham Clinton is to be the 2008 nominee after all.
I wonder what dynamics are pushing this effort forward? Even in a presidential election year where there is a massive ground swell of high hopes of winning back the WH, Dems seem to always find a way of some sort to politically shoot themselves in the hoof.

"...Maybe, just maybe, a bunch of delegates to the Democratic Convention in Denver will change their minds at the last minute. Maybe there is an outside chance that between now and the last week of August a critical mass will decide that Barack Obama is not their guy -- that, to the surprise of one and all, Hillary Rodham Clinton is to be the 2008 nominee after all.

That is the thinking behind a small but determined band of Hillary backers, some of whom have formed a 527 fundraising committee that has already run one $9,700 ad in the Chicago Tribune, and plans more in the weeks to come.

"Senator Clinton's name must be put in nomination. Her supporters must be allowed to make speeches on her behalf of her candidacy. There must be an honest roll call vote, not a symbolic one, so superdelegates can cast their votes honestly, for either candidate, as their judgment, conscience and democratic principles dictate."

7. Well, if this is a wasted thread, let's at least put it to a good purpose...

Not something I'd usually post in this forum, but it seems like people are a little uptight and could use a break today...

And this duplicate thread seems like an ideal one to retask:

Beijing takes dog off the menu for Olympics

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080711/lf_nm_life/olympics_dogmeat_dc_1

Looks like visitors won't be able to enjoy this traditional authentic Beijing cuisine -- but they *will* still be able to order the Donkey Dinner. It sounds odd, but I've heard there are a fair number of people who visit China just to get some ass.

9. My apologies for omitting cats, given who I was replying to...

Clearly I need some sensitivity training. Most people making a post about eating dogs would be much more socially aware.

20. Unfortunately, they didn't mention anything about monkey brains...

I've heard it's a delicacy there, to have monkey brains served, still steaming warm in the skull cap.

Disgusting, yes. But I don't see how it could taste much worse than polenta.

2. They're doing what they can to get her the VP slot...

Pretty obvious. Pretty political. Not even entirely wrong, from an advocacy standpoint. There are some who are just bonkers, of course. But I think this is mostly driven by "politics as usual," which say that you use every bit of political leverage you have.

4. Remember Obama said the next word on the VP issue would be spoken by him.
I wouldn't necessarily believe any other source. They are merely speculating.

24. Pure delusional shameful thinking
Such a conclusion would destroy the party. Disenfranchise half the democrativ voters and unite the GOP in a frigging heatbeat. SHe would not win in the fall.

And OBAMA would launch an independent bid with Bloomberg/Warner/Richardson along for the ride. African Ammerican voting would be through the roof. States that went for Obama would have open rebellion a nd might Put Obama on the ticket instead of CLinton, lest the people come after them with pitchforks.

IT WILL NOT HAPPEN!!
