Here's a McCain story I haven't read here:
I have it on reliable info that he was in the Philly suburbs a short time ago at the house of a real estate mogul and his wife in the Bryn Mawr/Rosemont area. This is, and I'm not kidding, a 25000+ square foot home. McCain begins his talk by saying, and I'm paraphrasing but not by much: "Democrats want everyone to have a house, Republicans want everyone to have a house like this!".

This particular reals estate tycoon claims that he started out as a 'shoe salesman' and has become wealthy beyond belief. It's the American Dream right?

Wotta load of shit.

1. I don't want to nit-pick, but ...
... did he happen to mention how Republican policies somehow lead to everyone having "a house like this"?

Just wonderin' ...

3. Well damn, and I was blming McNut's bad week on Gramm. It's NOT!
It's McNut AND the people he surrounds himself with too! I can only assume that nobody in his campaign told him THIS is the way to getr independent votes!

4. sounds similar to this older quote which must have been from 2000
I wonder if it's like the other lines McCain recycles?

http://terry.kovax.org/politics/ - think it's a book review from 2005 - you could track down that book I guess

"But he's truly a terrific human being, which I'll illustrate with one more line. At a fundraiser, held per usual at some rich guy's house, McCain says, "The difference between us and President Clinton is that President Clinton believes that everyone should own a home. Rich and I believe that everyone should own a house like this." So I like John McCain."

6. Good find...
I'll pass it along to my buddy who gave me the story in the first place...his wife's a 'mole' in the local republic campaign - there's a lot going on behind the scenes here in the 5 county Philly area.

he means everyone in the country club set. Women, blacks, hispanics, blue collar workers, excluded.

7. I guess then that means "everyone" will have lots and lots of servants
or at least all the right people will - and all the servants simply will not count as people
