Why the FISA vote doesn't matter.

Other than to us online political junkies (not to mention civil rights junkies), most people don't give a crap about it. In fact, I'd be surprised if most Americans even know what FISA is. Go ahead ask the average American...

"It's that thing foreigners need to come into our country."

"I think it's the new sauce from Taco Bell."

"I seen them advertise that on the TV. It's that new boner pill, right?"

And even after you explain to them what it is and why it matters, a good portion of Americans will actually support it. "Because it keeps America safe from terraists." Sadly, for Amuricans, they only see this affecting people who are probably guity anyway... or Muslims (who are probably guilty anyway).

Besides, it's not an important election issue like, ummm, lapel pins.

Careful, when those with eyes glued to the latest Brittany Spears crotch shot wake up and realize they are in a fascist nation with National Guardsman at every corner, they will dropped their Mountain Dews in protest.

3. The "average American" doesn't know diddly squat anyway.

That may make the impact of Obama's FISA vote less, but it doesn't mean that the rights of average Americans haven't been seriously eroded. In other words, IT DOES MATTER.
