1. Hopefully until well after he's inaugurated, that way we can try to force him to do something...
about it.

2. Feingold said he's convinced Obama will address it, knows his beliefs as Constitutional scholar.
Enough already...

4. Ah, the old 'I'll change him after we're married' trick. That always works.

6. I hate saying it, but we don't have a choice...
I don't like Obama, on my top 10 list of ideal candidates, he would be somewhere around 137, not even close to the top ten. The thing is that McCain is number 1,146,445,187 on that same list.

12. Haha, well put sir
Although with 6 billion people on this earth, surely McCain has to be lower than that.

5. Not everyone on DU "gets" Obama... Russ Feingold does.
The outrage among some is laughable.

10. I looked but cannot find the specific citation in which..
Russ gave his vote of confidence that Obama would do the right thing.

It was a week ago or longer.

16. Should we all just pretend it didn't happen?
It is a big deal.

Many who were sworn to protect and defend the constitution again abdicated that pledge. Obama was one of them.

How long should the outrage last?

Guess that depends on whether you value a politician over your rights and our nation's constitution.

20. I had high hopes for Obama. But since he sold out the 4th amendment in
favor of corporatism what else is willing to sell out on? Sorry, but as someone directly affected by this I call bullshit on his vote and every other fucking weasel that took the oath to uphold the constitution and then sat up there in Washington DC in the Senate Chamber and murdered the Fourth Amendment. Fuck each and every one of 'em. Not a single one will ever get my vote or my support again for anything.

23. I just checked over on Daily Kos and found out that "Nader was right".
So anyone who assumed people had learned the lesson from 2000, I'm sorry to report that apparently that is not the case. :eyes: So I guess it makes no difference if McCain gets to pick Stevens and Ginsberg's replacements. Gore=Bush AND Obama=McCain. Uggghhhhh. When does rational thought reengage?

24. OK, I'll dish.
When I first heard it, expletives flew for about a half-hour. Then I pouted for about another two hours. Then I invoked zen and became one with the universe.

Edited on Thu Jul-10-08 12:48 AM by concerned canadian
about this Fisa thing, so i googled it, went straight to wikipedia, and found out that it's been around, as an

Entity, since 1978.

And that would take me an uninterrupted weekend to read the entire history, with all the links. I wonder how many

"Obama betrayed me, now it's McCain" fake democrats know that government secret eavesdropping and wiretapping

didn't just happen the other day, so to speak. It's just that now a president has been caught on video (spy vs spy)

admitting it.
