Odd version of "The Chicago Way" - The Knifefight
Edited on Mon Jul-07-08 03:24 PM by NattPang
Scene 1-

Obama goes to the Knifefight
with his gun in holster.

Dem Activists take knives to the knifefight
and hold them to Barack Obama's throat.

Obama pulls out his gun,
but the Republicans are hiding
behind the Dem Activists,
so he can't shoot at his targets.

The media has a machinegun trained on
both Barack Obama and Dem Activists,
and shoot up a clip.

Obama is wounded by bullets
with knives still at his throat.

The Democratic Activists are wounded too.
they see the blood
but think only Obama has been hit.

Republicans, Democratic Activists, and
media swear Obama's wounds are
self inflicted.

Democratic Activists go home
only to realize that they have been hit too.

John McCain is watching it all
while sitting in his getaway car.

He speeds away and heads to
Speakeasy town hall meeting
to meet with moderates and Independents.
Media follows.

This is my play on "The Chicago way",
Taking a gun to the Knifefight.

4. Thanks.
Sad as it is,
I closed my eyes,
and based on what I hear
in the news,
and read in editorials
and that scene is what imagined.

BTW,
everyone was wearing
West Side Story
Costumes.

5. Well, it's imaginative. LOL.
I do not expect activists and progressives we've always admired to stop thinking and stop speaking out just because it's Barack Obama they're disagreeing with. They're not being tools of the GOP or the media. They haven't turned into pod people.

And they're certainly not going after him with knives. The criticism they've offered is constructive.

Wow, the melodrama. I'm surprised you didn't envision them nailing him to a cross.

This is the Democratic Party, and it isn't an authoritarian party. You will always see disagreements among Democrats. You need to be able to deal with them. As our nominee, he needs to be able to deal with them. If he can't, he isn't a very strong nominee, and having supporters trying desperately to quash any disagreement will not make him a stronger nominee.

6. I'm seeing the disagreement all on the news
Edited on Mon Jul-07-08 03:47 PM by NattPang
and the media have turned it into
more than it needs to be.

The disagreements are being used
as an excuse to smear Obama.

The "knifefight" scene shows
that the activists have not hurt Obama with the knives.
Only that they incapacitated him long enough
to allow the media to do the real damage.
and in a long run,
I do believe that the Democratic Activists
are hurting themselves,
but will put it on Obama
by blaming self inflicted wounds.

As far as quashing "disagreement",
please go ahead and continue.
Don't mind me.
I don't count.
