Obama's Liberal Platform
I know that like me, many of you are chomping your nails over recent Obama statements and pledges. He seems to be drifting to the center, even though in REALITY he's simply been placing more emphasis on what are classicaly considered to be more "centrist" policies. Here's a little reminder of why many of us Libruls chose him in the primary season. PLEASE go to his website to get a little refresher for yourselves. I will only post the summaries here for succinctness, though the expanded versions are far more exciting ;)

Click on the following links to remind yourself what he stands for. Again please keep in mind that he has been consistent on these issues throughout. No matter how the MSM spins it, and in spite of the fact that he's now placing emphasis on different things.

And here are all the rest!

Go right now and learn why so many of us chose Obama. Sadly many of us chose him without even bothering to read about what his stances are. But after reading these I think that many of you Libruls will be a lot more excited about the guy ;)

1. Oh, good......
... so it isn't me. All weekend the Media was making such a fuss about Obama changing his positions. I didn't see much flip-flopping, changing, moving away from, etc. I thought maybe I missed something, but I guess not. Good to know I'm not losing my marbles.....

ve immunity is questionable . . . . .

So, I guess we on the Left have to settle for reinforcing the FISA courts so that the invasion of our privacy does not go on un-supervised.

It does kind of stink though, because it IS very possible that everyone, or at least most of the telecoms knew that that seal of approval from AG (Ashcroft?) was just a CYA.

4. I read most of that, not that impressive, to be frank about it...
Better than McCain's approach to things, but not exactly to the left, or liberal either. He supports Merit pay for teachers(bad), Partial-Birth Abortion Ban(bad), Non-Universal Health care(bad), Cap and Trade emissions scam(bad), "Clean" Coal technology(bad), etc.

I could go on and on, but what can I say, the only things I really agree with him on is indexing the Minimum Wage to inflation, though even there, I don't think he goes far enough, it shouldn't be a hard number, like 9.50 an hour, but rather calculated based on local costs of living, to ensure everyone get's a living wage that can pay the bills even if its not the same number nationwide.
