John Kerry.

Who didn't?
George W.Bush
Dick Cheney

Well that's pretty solid to start with.

2. no, I disagree . . .
the true issues are:

1) those who did not go to Vietnam AND are now chickenhawks (which is most of GWBush and Company in the whitehouse)

2) and those who are lying about past military service (which is a Kerry v. Bush thing)

3. Neighbor of mine back then only served for ONE MONTH
Just out of High School, saved up and bought himself a cherry 57 Chevy. He only served for one month. He got to go home in a box after being unable to fulfull his tour of duty.

Unpatriotic bastard.:-(

4. No man, you just don't get it
/sarcasm on/

See, what you do is... you don't get drafted or use deferments,
you VOLUNTEER. Then, see (and this is all part of the plan), you
also VOLUNTEER for Vietnam. But they put you on a ship, and, well,
you serve a tour of duty, but THAT's not good enough... I mean you
just don't have the street cred yet... so you VOLUNTEER for a second
tour and to join the Swift Boats. Yeah, that's the ticket... you
can find some good action now to further your grand scheme. So now
you do some bogus missions, kill a teenage VC (unarmed and in the
back), and every shrapnel scratch you get you put in for more medals!
Even once where you grenade a rice bin and some of your OWN grenade
hits you in the butt! But this is all a plan. After three purple
hearts, you decide you have enough to be a "hero" so you use a
little known regulation and pull the rip cord on Vietnam. Then,
after retuning stateside, you revert to your true communist self
and you join antiwar groups and make sure that you get yourself
photographed with none other than "Hanoi Jane" herself (now getting
street cred for being "against an unpopular war - flipflop 1)!
Then you testify before congress, knowing all along that in a few
years, YOU'LL BE THERE too. So you take a stand against the war,
pissing off hundreds of thousands of other Vets, ALL to establish
you liberal cred. Then, after law school (and Skull & Bones!) you
become an assistant DA (WHAT - oh, flipflop 2), then lieutenant
governor for MA, and, drumroll... Senator! Now, wait 20 years,
doing little in congress to be noticed (Well, you voted for
that balanced budget crap even before Clinton and the repukes
were pushing it - flipflop ?), just so you can pick the right
time to run for PRESIDENT! And you have the war hero crap from
30+ years ago... plus the antiwar street cred... so you've got
all the bases covered. That's a GREAT PLAN. All thought up
by a 20 year old Lt(jg) in the Navy...

And that's the true story of WHY John Kerry got those INTENTIONAL
SELF INFLICTED wounds!

As told to me by Michelle Malkin!

/sarcasm off/

5. Yes- Boil it all down and that's what it comes to. Very Simple
And I hope that becomes a dem talking point as we swing into the fall. You can try and refute that but it's undeniably true

6. I don't think it is, really -- it's more about heroism vs. hypocrisy
Lots of people got deferments, or went to Canada, or went in the guard, or in some other way avoided combat. I don't think that's a problem, unless they're chickenhawk bloviating hypocrits. THAT's a problem.

The second thing that matters is that John Kerry did something really extraordinary in requesting dangerous duty in Vietnam when he had the privileges to avoid it.
