It's not on here yet, but how did Wes do? Was it a joint appearance?

2. Not a joint appearance
The best line was when Gen. Clark reminded everyone that getting shot down in a fighter jet was not a requirement for CiC. Instead, judgement and ability to communicate and persuade remain the core essentials for success at the job. (I gotta real chuckle from the "shot down" line.) Wes was really spot on this morning and if I may make a shallow remark, looked great too.

This surrogate business for Obama seems to bring out the best in the General.

10. How Many Planes Did McSame Crash?
Edited on Sun Jun-29-08 12:04 PM by Me.
The number is out there, and is more than 2, more like six. That says to me that he wasn't even that good of a pilot.

Edited to add: Vietnam Vets Against McSame says it was 5

3. Wes told the Schiefer
that just because McCain was shot down and was a POW doesn't make him qualified to be President. In which Schiefer pissed his pants

5. Bob S was visually shaken my that comment
looks like he couldn't understand that crashing your plane does not equal to qualification for President.

23. It's probably because their last president was always crashing
too. Maybe not in a plane, but I'm sure * crashed a lot after nights of partying.

15. Bob was all "Really??" about that
I was screaming REALLY BOB at the TV when Wes said that. Thank you Wes! And the great thing is, no one will give him shit for saying that because he's General Clark.

22. Schieffer is the Bush family friend who moderated soft ball 3rd 2004 debate, letting W off the hook

4. Wes is the best surrogate out there for Obama -
he followed Lieberman and basically destroyed all his points.

We has learned from Karl Rove to take McCain on his supposed strength - national security - pointing out that being shot down in a plane is not a criterion for commander in chief and that MCCain really doesn't have the experience of making foreign policy decisions or even military command decisions.

And when Schlieffer pointed out that Obama doesn't either, Wes noted that Obama isn't running on national security - he is running on his judgment, his communication skills and his ability to bring people together.

Now in my opinion, if Obama were to run with someone who had make military command decisions and had negotiated with foreign governments - i.e. Wesley Clark, it would be an unbeatable ticket.

6. Clark wiped that silly grin off Schieffer's face right quick.
Schieffer was almost laughing incredulously as to why getting shot down in Vietnam didn't qualify McGoo to be president. I'm sorry he wasn't on at the same time with that low life LIEberman so he could show some real contrast.

and is not afraid to tell it like it is. "They" can't discredit him or "they" are too afraid to even try to. His expertise and knowledge are untouchable.

Go Wes!!

I missed Face the Nation - I'm hoping that it'll be online somewhere so I can see it.

Edit for freudian slip. LOL

14. Just watched it.
Wes was flawless in his surrogacy for Barack. It showed that Wes really does believe that Obama has the right idea on what to do on foreign relations, as he should....as Obama's views mirror Wes' own.

18. The only two that would say that they would "talk" to Iran
and both opposed Iraq.

So yes, I would say, they are more closely aligned than most folks realize.

I find that Wes is much more relaxed talking about Obama's foreign policy, then when he was talking about Hillary's. But maybe that's my imagination?

20. I sure hope you voted for him
CQ Poll

Biden may be a good guy but he is also a senator that carries some baggage.

Clark is a southern general who never voted for the war and is perfectly qualified to take on McCain.

If he doesn't get the VP spot I hope there's another place for him in Obama's administration.
