Tickets to see Obama in KC were all given out in ONE HOUR
And I had to stand in line to find that out.

Absolutely amazing. Most rock concerts don't sell out that fast.

Here's an article in our local paper. Check out the ignorant comments. And leave you own; you don't have to register. :)

3. Monday in an auditorium I am not familiar with
So I'm not sure how big it is.

It's still amazing. They just told us last night that he was coming.

2. That's amazing. I only read the first comment, and that was enough.
I just don't have the stomach for the "hate" that pops up on these blogs and websites. It's gonna be a long four months.

4. I don't think I've read a comment section in 6 months
So much of it is astroturf bullshit.

This is a very racist town.

9. Tell me about it.
If you did a survey of the demographics of most of the schools here, you'd think there was some exemption for KC in the decision for Brown vs. Topeka Board of Education.

8. The comments section of the KC Star often resembles an online Klan rally
It's kind of eye-opening since in my daily routine I interact almost exclusively with people with IQs above 80 and a basic sense of kindness and compassion.

11. It's really sad
Those comments are just awful about 90% of the time.

I hang out here: http://primebuzz.kcstar.com/

There are a few crazy right wingers but the conversation is a bit more intelligent.

12. I may find the right-wingers at primebuzz to be obnoxious sometimes
but it's nothing like the vile hateful garbage that gets posted in the comments section of the news articles.

However, if you follow the Royals, there will occasionally be a few people with interesting things to say in the comments for the baseball articles.

6. My "favorite" comment:

Post 32762.41, never compare that house 'boy' (a.k.a. Curious George) to JFK , FDR or LBJ. He is what he 'is'. And you know what that 'is'. We all what he 'is' and don't want that leading the most powerful country in the world!

7. He does have a rock star quality, it's wonderful so many want to
see him in person. It can only help him.
