My idea of Hell: Having Sean Hannity be the only thing you could watch on TV

I'm watching Sean Insannity and The Insectman gloating over the "muslim issue" with closeted Andrew Card and they are wasting digital space with Card acting like he's a smart boy by saying "let Obama be himself" with Sean chiming in with what can only be the words of someone with a sub-100 IQ that even Card feels uncomfortable with playing along with. The Insectman responds with gibberish that only someone on low grade LSD would find tolerable as a way to fight back the nonsense.

As the Insectman goes into the next segment about energy reform, the production director has enough scripting to have a 2-second shot of Sean giving the "no-no" head jerk so that the audience takes the cue. Then he interrupts the energy guy to talk about how World War II analogy can be used to somehow make oil drilling come to fruition in a couple years. The Insectman sits there letting the energy guy get assaulted with crap like how he knows the guy's wife in a carnal way and that all liberals enjoy high gas prices. Sean mentions that we have more oil than anybody if we include the shale oil reserves, which are essentially proven to be completely not worth drilling for. The Insectman sits idly as the interview about energy reform is turned into a sophomoric joke about Ted Kennedy and windmills.

To be trapped in this petty little World where it's all about Sean Insannity and all about nothing else is indeed the very definition of Hell.

4. I'll tune in November 5
The wailing and gnashing of teeth will be fun to watch.

In fact if things go our way I intend to watch a full week of Fox News after the election :smoke:

8. More annoying than Hannity are "Well, turn it off" responses, seriously.
As I type, half the thread are the "well, why don't you turn it off" variety.

I posted something just a few days about the very same annoying individual, Sean Hannity, and had some of the same responses.

Do people lurk and lay in wait for the opportunity to preach about a perfect stranger's viewing habits??? How very odd.

Speaking for myself, I post a short rant about Hannity, or Blitzer, thinking that a few who sympathize with me might share some humor, or some rage, or something like, "did you see him say...".

I don't want a fucking lecture and I don't stalk others and chime in with unsolicited advice.

You could look at it this way, the boards are like a public square. Small groups with like interests are conversing. You're free to join in, even with alternative opinions.

But you don't break in to say, "why are you talking about this stupid thing? you should talk about something else!"

That's how I feel about that, I hope it's OK to throw in on your piecs, zulchzulu.

And Sean Hannity is a turd, a twisted tool, and Hell needs a tenth circle just for him.

He is.

10. Agreed...
Of course I can turn it off. Of course I can act like asswipes like Hannity aren't there. I could sell my car and house and move to Nepal.

Friggin' duh.

It's important for people who never saw or heard the likes of Hannity et al to actually see the stuff in order to train one's perception about how the MSM injects nonsense into the stream... we Democrats need to understand the Reich Wing Echochamber and their "arguments" so that we can diffuse what they say...

11. Hannity is a two or three issue person. He stays on one thing and uses the same argument
500 times. He tries to pick something so obscure the spin doctors won't have any background info on the subject then he will drill them on the one thing they can't answer for ten minutes. He finds your weakness then digs in like a Pit-bull. I will never forget his crusade to get Michael Schiavo and call him a murder without any evidence. He also never apologized for that. He is the lowest form of scum on earth. If I ever had to debate him I would bring up Terri and Michael Schiavo and how he blew it and called an Innocent man a murder and never let it drop. I would just say it over and over and over just like he does.

17. There are literally hundreds, or more, things to watch on tv
that have nothing to do with political talking heads. Should Hannity ever be the last talking head on the set, unlikely though that seems, there would be plenty of other things to watch.

Why bother? What is the attraction of listening to someone spout political opinion on tv or radio?

I honestly don't get this one.

20. It's no different than any other odd interests that any of us have.
For example, I don't get the attraction of cigars, or wine tasting, or golf.
Or "Beds, Bath, and Beyond".

The thing is, I don't track down people who have those interests and then preach to them or suggest they develop interests in something else.

I don't mean your comment so much as others in this thread, at least you admit that "you don't get it".

zulchzulu posted a "tongue in cheek" commentary on Sean Hannity, complete with cute rat picture, that might be of interest to other readers with the same, or different, opinion about that person or crappy cable news in general.

Agree or disagree, or discuss the topic, fine. But to criticize the viewing habits as others have is kind of dismissive and insulting to the OP, as well as preachy.

Hannity is a distraction, I can't watch or hear him for longer than a minute or two, but I'll admit that I do like to see how awful he can be and I wonder how many people are buying his crap.

It's a shame that there aren't more really educational programs available, some of the once great channels have gone downhill, Discovery, History, A&E.

Or "Farty Towels", as the sign out front often read.

They are a higher form of life than he is. Something much more fitting would be a huge steaming pile of bullshit.
