The Obama Revolution

This week, CoverAwards welcomes special French correspondent Vincent Germain who provided us with this incredible recent cover of The Courrier International featuring Barack Obama.

According to Vincent, The Courrier discusses how Barack Obama is changing America.

The headline is “The Obama Revolution.”

2. It IS revolutionary....and in the nicest way.
Edited on Mon Jun-23-08 10:10 PM by NYC_SKP
Some may disagree...some suggest we wait until he's been elected.

I'll reserve my personal opinions toward such negativity....(in this post)

This man and his campaign have launched and sustained what anyone would have called impossible two or three years ago:

His names, Hussein, Obama.

His race and background, Black, with Muslim paternal traces.

His opponent, the inevitable Clinton machine, well connected, well funded, with a huge lead in superdelegate endorsements BEFORE the first votes were cast.

A true grass-roots effort, funded and supported and sustained not by the establishment, but by the people, ordinary and extraordinary people.

Etc., etc...

I'm proud to have been a part of this REVOLUTION since the beginning.

Join us, support us, better late than never.

The rest of the world sees something many here refuse to see.
They are counting on us electing Obama. I hope we don't disappoint.
_____________________________________________________________________
He has completely reshaped the landscape of electoral politics. Small $$ contributions writ large have given him an astounding fundraising advantage first over his Dem counterparts and now McCain. No big money fatcats.

To top that off, he has said not to Pac money and money from lobbyists and insisted the DNC will do the same. He has begun a 50 state strategy mirroring Howard Dean's efforts.

He has given a wonderful speech on race that is most important in helping to define the debate in this country.

As leader, orator, and campaigner he has already done far more than Kerry or Gore or even Clinton ever did.
_____________________________________________________________________
With policy? No, of course not. He isn't there yet, he needs to do that from office.

Campaigning? You betcha. He's turned campaign financing as it's been done for the last three decades right on it's head and shown people how to do public financing RIGHT. He's taken Dean's 50 state strategy and turned it into reality. He's overwhelmingly seized the next generation of voters for the Democratic party if they don't screw it up now that they're got them on board, which is going to have huge repercussions in future elections as the oldest generation passes on and is replaced by the young voters currently entering the electorate. He's about to shatter a positively ancient perception in the AA community that the presidency just wasn't something that was for 'one of them', and don't think THAT isn't going to have a lasting and profound effect.

You want to see some changes? Open your eyes man. If he keeps going strong he's remaking the political composition of the entire country right in front of you.

Well said, all.
Ignore the detractors, they hear without listening, they speak without saying anything, they see without comprehending.

Let us now return to the Revolution...

and positive about Obama. We have not been very popular the last - oh seven years or so ...

7. we should do some studies and draw correlation as to why that is
what could have been happening these past 7 years that would cause the world to hate us?

9. Well, I agreed with Obama on this one matter:
Edited on Mon Jun-23-08 10:58 PM by NYC_SKP
First, for context:
Here's an exchange from a press conference that speaks volumes about Bush's attitude toward energy and American consumerism.

Q: Is one of the problems with this, and the entire energy field, American lifestyles? Does the President believe that, given the amount of energy Americans consume per capita, how much it exceeds any other citizen in any other country in the world, does the President believe we need to correct our lifestyles to address the energy problem?

MR. FLEISCHER: That’s a big no. The President believes that it’s an American way of life, and that it should be the goal of policy makers to protect the American way of life. The American way of life is a blessed one. And we have a bounty of resources in this country. What we need to do is make certain that we’re able to get those resources in an efficient way, in a way that also emphasizes protecting the environment and conservation, into the hands of consumers so they can make the choices that they want to make as they live their lives day to day.

Then there's Obama:
"We can't drive our SUVs and, you know, eat as much as we want and keep our homes on, you know, 72 degrees all the time, whether we're living in the desert or we're living in the tundra, and then just expect every other country is going to say OK."

He speaks a truth, one that some may not want to hear but which resonates with others around the world.

:patriot:
