$300 million bounty for better battery? Gas tax holiday? THESE ARE MCCAINS SOLUTIONS!?!?
Are you fucking kidding me?

And this guy thinks he can become President with this?

Offering $300 million to anyone who can make a better car battery?

Offering a gas tax holiday gimmick that doesn't save you shit but looks good on paper?

No wonder Obama is leading this clown in the polls, and the electoral map looks favorable to him already.

This has to be a joke. Surely the GOP didn't just hand us this victory by nominating John McCain. Surely they'll get to the convention, say it's all a big joke, and give the nomination to Bob Dole and re-run him--after all, he'd have a better chance of winning than this IDIOT!

3. Apparently. I can't believe the GOP thinks people will fall for this crap.
John McCain has ran the worst campaign I've seen in a long time, thus far.

2. Maybe the $300 million is just an excuse to cut a big check to GE or Toyota
I mean, eventually, R&D is going to have the next improved series of batteries ready, no?

4. Has he enlightened anyone where the dough might come from? And
does he think no one's had the bright idea to try to develop this kind of battery already?
He's just trying to distract from the Enron loopholes Obama wants to investigate/close, imo.

5. Gimicks
That's all that McCain has to offer. He has no real solutions. These are the catchy things the corporate lobbyists told him to say. It's crap...

7. Alternative bio fuels, the centerpiece of Obama's energy wonderland
consume more fossil fuel energy to process than they yield. So far, nobody is addressing the real world energy problems we are facing.

8. Woo hoo! So some lucky company can pocket our tax money and then never make the battery!
Finally, military spending efficiency makes it to the marketplace!

All this plan is missing is the R&D subsidies like the Pharma companies get, to develop their $300 million dollar prize!

13. All the pundits literally LOL'd about the $300M prize on Morning Joe today
Seriously...the first time it was reported I swear no one could talk about it without laughing. Buchanan was actually the funniest by telling McCain to just go ahead and send the money to Toyota right now and be done with it.

I think Mika (is that her name?) started to feel bad because as the show went on, she would say "well maybe it's a good idea" while the others kept laughing. She could barely say it with a straight face though. I can only imagine the amount of nasty phone calls they got from the McCain camp over it.
