Top 10 Reasons McCain Wants to Debate Obama
Edited on Fri Jun-20-08 02:20 AM by NanceGreggs
10) He wants to experience the sensation of speaking in front of more than twenty-two people.

9) Chance for Cindy to sweet-talk Michele out of a few cookie recipes backstage.

8) Is convinced he will lure Obama supporters to his side with his legendary eloquence and charm.

7) Hopes Obama will keep the audience awake.

6) Promised Lieberman an Obama autograph for his “presidential signatures” collection.

5) Feels a visual demonstration of how white he actually is by comparison will work in his favor.

4) Wants to be able to tell the grandkids he once met a future legitimate president, up close and personal.

3) Dropping the fact that he once hosted SNL into the conversation will undoubtedly convince the youngsters that he’s way cool.

2) Is confident that Obama will be a no-show due to abject fear.

1) A gnawing need to feel relevant in a presidential race that is so not about him.

2. 11. He needs street cred!
At some point in the debate, McCain will most definitely refer to Barack as 'my good friend'

He can therefore, walk about as the whitest American ever with 'a black friend!'

BTW, McCain just signed up for forum access here

8. *groan* you said it...been on the road the past three days
doing some OSHA compliance training and I just CANNOT sleep in hotels when I have obligations the next day, particularly if it's early...I'm always afraid I won't wake up: the alarm won't go off, the wake-up call won't come, etc. And I can't shut my brain off.
Just got home from the third of three 2.25-hour trips from/to/from the same facility TODAY, with 3 1-hour training sessions (6:00 am, 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm) and back home to work my other job in between.
*sigh* But I'm home now, and I took tomorrow OFF, and I'm so gonna sleep tonight!
 What's keeping you awake, besides creative juices?

9. Had a VERY long week on a patent trial ...
... (I'm a court reporter). Nothing more exciting in this world than listening to expert witnesses drone on and on about the minute difference between one piston-driven cartridge mechanism and another.

Today was my LAST day on this case - have to type the transcripts over the weekend, but just wanted to enjoy a night of NOT having to be in court at the crack of dawn (okay, okay, 9:30 a.m., which is the crack of dawn for a night owl like me!)

5. 12) autographs
He wants Obama's autograph, as well as his celebrity fans.
Look who Obama has; Hogan, Robert DeNiro, Johannsen.
Who does McCrane have? Seriously. At least Huck got Chuck Norris!

10. McCain is supposedly good in Town Halls and Obama is better reading off...
...a teleprompter. Axelrod ran similar campaigns for Obama and Deval Patrick, but Obama's presentation is more inspirational.

12. And we all know how well McCain reads off of a teleprompter.
"That's not change we can believe in"

15. In all seriousness McCain wants "townhall style" debates without moderators
in order that he can launch unsubstantiated attacks without any fear of restraint whatsoever. (not that moderators would help much.)
