Speaking about Obama, Giuliani said "He thinks that we're much better off using a defensive approach, using the criminal justice system more than it should. "Barack Obama appears to believe that terrorists should be treated like criminals -- a belief that underscores his fundamental lack of judgment regarding our national security.
Rudy believes some how that the executive branch only uses the US criminal justice system as a defensive, after the fact, "clean up the mess approach" to policing society. FBI and the CIA can and do actively and aggressively pursuit criminals. We have active agents in harms way right now aggressively working for the criminal justice system. So these people are what to Rudy? No existent, or I guess not macho enough? Once again may be I watch more TV than Rudy, but I've seen on the air, police raids of drug houses in full riot gear often coming up again men armed with AK 47 among other fire arms. What are they using a purely defensive approach to law enforcement? What a slap in the face to the men and women that risk their lives every day. Talk about a fundamental lack of judgment. What does this administration keep telling me about Iraq: our troops are there to maintain order until Iraq security forces can do the job. So basically the Republicans own belief is that Iraq can only succeed once it's law enforcement agents and criminal justice system are able to maintain order. So if such a system is sooooo important in Iraq and is a key goal of restoring Iraq, how the heck can't it be the single most important tool in fighting terrorist?
